Favourable figures Im told.

Rosy looking future too with Zinc doing particularly well.

Nothing wrong with punting the result. ZFX is the old Pasminco that went broke, so it has a credibility problem in the market. As such it trades at a discount but good results like this (it came true stock is up 2.5% today on the back of the result). As mentioned the commodities outlook is pretty solid.

During the reporting series, punting the result is a big part of the game. If you get it wrong it can hurth though, look at CPU for proof.

Short sighted:cool: ....Zinifex was the best performing stock in the index last year, surging 194 percent and with China booming along I can see more gains.
got any other tips

Zinifex will continue to do great, as will all zinc companies. The price of zinc is blazing along, above ground supplies are tiny, and new production coming online soon won't even be able to make up for scheduled mine closures., let alone increased demand from Asia. Pacifica Resources in Canada is my number one zinc pick, and although it's already up 10x in the last year, it still has a long way to go price-wise.

how much you make of it topjars?

Yep, got a nice cheque in the mail a couple of months back.

Spose youve heard that Zinifex is about to merge with Umicore (sometime in the 3rd qtr of this year)...which is when I'll have the right to cash in my "given" shares...if I want to...but I'll hold I reckon.

Basically the mining side will stay as Zinifex and our refining and smelting assets will consolidate with Umicores.

No one can say what this will do to the Zinifex share price but the mail is that the "yet to be named company" will be the largest Zinc operator in the world and that where refining and smelting were second-cousins to mining under the Zinifex umbrella, that'll change markedly:)
:thumbsu: All good according to whats been presented at my workplace.:thumbsu:

Locking in some "life of mine" contracts (such as Dugald River) before merge could be useful ;) for a large company...

My dad also works for Xinifex and they give him $100 dollars of shares a year. When this first started he got 500 shares now he gets less than 100.

Topjars you would probably know him. Nearly no hair drives a old Subaru

Is that you son !! LOL;)

Cant say I can place him.

Lets see...700 employees divided by workers = 350 divided by non follically challenged = 18. Is it a white suburu?

Zfx shares have crashed a bit in the last few days...just a blip in the radar.
Zinc will remain strong all this year:thumbsu:
