"West Coast have thought for far too long they run this town" Then smirks :D

Said he expects to make the decision in the next few days as was planning to meet the club this afternoon.

Great comment. :)

I still don't understand what his role would be though. Would he be Harvey's boss? If they want him as footy manager then what happens to Shaw? Or is it like Tom Hanks in A League Of Their Own, he steps out, waves to the crowd, tells a joke, then goes back inside.

I did hear Dom that he (Sheeds) stated that whoever was Freo's coach has the final say and that he will be brought on purely as a mentor :thumbsu:

Regardless of that...sheeds will be licking his lips at the thought of coming over to the west, whack in the middle of the "Eagles Lair" and causing a bit of a ruckus:p

I like it!

Would be great to get Sheeds. I wonder if they are considering him for the Head Coach role, or just the mentoring/manager/guru role.

It's strange that Brad Hardly in the slimes today is basically giving his blessing (after weeks of championing for Sumich) to Harvey. I get a feeiling the Weagle media are a little scared of the prospect of a Sheedy-run Freo for some reason.

DOM reported that Shaw is possibly moving back to Vic. if this eventuates then I'm assuming Sheedy would take a revamped role Shaw is doing at the moment

CEO was quizzed on CH9 news tonite about chances of sheedy coming over- answer "hopeful"

As an opposition supporter I would like to ask...

Wouldnt the new coach whoever it is be too busy watching over his back rather than coaching the side if Sheeds was there?

Fair enough. I can't see him moving to Perth for 12 months to be an assistant coach with a fancy job title, but I hope that he does.

Yeah I read that about Shaw, I wonder if he's not happy about them chasing Sheeds or if he just wants to go home?

Hopeful is a nothing answer. It's like maybe or possibly. I'm hopefully going to win powerball on Thursday. The sun will hopefully come out tomorrow. One's much more likely than the other.

The new coach, whoever it is to be, would just have to deal with it. If the club didn't want Sheedy's fingerprints on the team they wouldn't be going after him.

If they didn't know each other then possibly, but Harvey has known Sheedy since he was 16-17.

Not if the new coach is Harvey and the 2 have a very good understanding together.

One thing that has impressed me more than anything with Harvey is his loyalty and I think we are starting to see the reason why he pulled out of job opportunities so often in the past. The guy is as loyal as they come often to the detriment of his own career.

A Harvey and Sheedy tandem controlling the Fremantle Football Club will be the best thing to ever happen for Fremantle, I have no doubt about that. CC may have been a push over and an easy target for the media, Harvey and Sheedy will completely change the way in which the media handles Fremantle, that I am sure of.

I don't necessarily think it will change the way the media handle Freo (if anything it will give them extra ammo) but Sheedy in particular will change the way Freo handles the media.

There will always be the obligatory cheap shots, but Sheedy has the best comebacks in the business. He'll show em up as the hacks they are.

Sheedy will more than likely attract more media attention than whom so ever is head coach.
If Harv's is the head coach - he will be able to go under the radar a little more than normal for such a position if Sheeds comes on board.

I really can't see Sheeds moving here myself, as much as he might promise to change the 'dynamics' of WA/Freo/Eagles football.

It'd be just as much a foot-bullet as the contrived stirring of the pot as Akermanis with his transfer to the Bullies and his embarrassingly bad media spot.

Let Harvey do his thing on his own and leave Sheeds to a dignified exit in the AFL administration as a promoter/ambassador.

Sheedy, maybe not as coach but something like football manager or martian consulatant or whatever, would be perfect for Fremantle.

His experience and hard nosed approach would be invaluable.

I hope he stays in Victoria.
