The company I work for are in possession of a car that 'own'

It was purchased off a company that went into liquidation (we purchased everything), however for some reason it did not make the sales register.

Many years past and the car was never dealt with, according to Vic Roads it stayed under the ownership of the liquidated company. We are now dealing with the car but the liquidater has destroyed all records of this company as it was so long ago so cant verify the sale of the car to us.

So we have a car that we have possession of and paid for, however the owner of the car is a non existent company. We want to be listed as the rightful owners and have the registration changed to a different state.

Anybody know what the protocol here is? We are in Victoria, changing from a Tas rego

I cant get to Vic Roads for a few days so searching for an answer out here first so I can prepare
