But it is a great trip to plan regardless of making a GF... Dunno if u have kids - but its awesome with or without them. I just went with my son last year for 5 days, and Melbourne in the Oct school holidays is amazing... realised this year they usually have an overlap with our holidays of a week - so one hectic week with all the kids festival stuff on, then a quiet week with all the Vic kids back in school but ours on break still. But yeah... Sept/Oct in Melbourne is a heap of festivals etc and well worth planning, and if the school hols thing isnt a factor - then going for a bit before the GF rather than after also brings in the option of a quick trip up to the snow late in the ski season

Does anyone know how many noteholders there are? I personally know about 30, so there has to be a fair few around. As they get priority, there is very few tickets available for normal members. I think the ballot odds for most are very, very slim..

Well it would depend on how many people entered the ballot and how many tix they get allocated.....does the amount of members in the ballot get released? Would be very handy to know the odds for some still deciding on booking flights.

05 I winged it with last minute flights. 06 was the same. 07 i thought i would get all smart and booked a holiday in Fiji via Melbourne for a few days and we didn't even make it. Fiji holiday was great but being in Melbourne on GF day without the eagles playing sucked bigtime.

At the end of the day i still rate the 06 grand final as one of the 3 best days of my life. The other 2 are my wedding and when my son was born. And i can tell you the Grand Final was a shitload cheaper

This would be much more comforting for me if I weren't currently planning a wedding
