Look losing pick 10 is the only real hit we took (16 in this draft is a glorified 2nd rounder), we already have a really inexperienced list from spots 28-40 and had 3 first rounders running around in the sanfl for a lot of the time in 2017 and look we got pigeon holed into Gibbs and they probably deliberately took a bit of a hit this time unlike last year to stave of some of dogs that have been barking at the gate since the GF loss, it’s a natural reaction.

It’s honestly fine, I just of course hope Gibbs can play some good football here

It's pick 10 and a 5 pick downgrade (but into apparently a much strong draft) for Gibbs.

We've got a team that is ready to win now.

My issue is the future second going to them. Why oh why was that necessary

It’s a good deal, particularly if we get a first for Charlie. We’ve still got two firsts next year and an upgrade on our second which looks like being end of first round (or there abouts) in a draft chock full of SA talent. So that’s essentially three picks under 25 next year.

Agreed...looks like we got reamed on face value (and offering a 4 yr deal to him too - which I think is 1 year too long), but hopeful we can get another good pick for CC to lessen the blow a little.

Guys..I sincerely hope you win one next year with Gibbs. I know there may be some shock with respect to the deal that was completed for his services ...but Gibbs is serious class..His skills in a team like yours, with the quality he'll now have around him will be sublime..

Picks 10, 16 and 2018 pick 35.

For Gibbs, 2018 picks 21 39.

So it's pick 10 and a 5 pick downgrade (but into apparently a much strong draft) for Gibbs.

This is spot on JP! People just look at the numbers and not what that draft pick will actually get you. It's a weak draft!

Also the quality of player at Pick 16 this year, from my own investigations and what those with even more knowledge are saying could potentially be equal to Pick 25 next year.

I'm just glad we did not trade our 2018 Picks.

Paid overs but if we can eek 12 out of brisbane than im happy. Basically we rated gibbs the same as lever so not sure about that, will take 2 years to see the extent of all the workings.
