From what I have seen of the guy at the level he seems to lack skils, thinks he is faster than he really is and is a poor decision maker.

His mistake late in the final quarter cost us a goal.

Time for him to go back to dominating WAFL games me thinks.

Agreed. A Great Wafl player at best. Not hard enough, not quick enough, not angry enough.

Gilmore was unlucky today.

Are you a poet BB gun, coz that was a wonderful rhyming couplet in iambic pentameter ;)

Re Gilmore, today he didn't play a great game. He was serviceable for parts of the game, made some shocking errors. Still a long-term prospect methinks, not up to AFL standard.

a kick in the butt mayb in order for the man tho he has been dropped before 9 times outa 10 players come back harder and more intense but just not happining for him, back to the wafl with m carr i say

Other young players are given time in the side to adapt to AFL pace, so why not him? I thought some of his physicality today showed he has made great progress since this time last year at AFL level. He made some good tackles and looks to have improved. He made mistakes sure, but so did other players such as Mundy etc, I don't hear people calling for his head because everyone thinks he is Hirds love child.

Gilmore may have sprayed a kick.
But that's no reason to give him the flick.

Fair assessment. I was actaully quite pleased with his endeavour and dare I say it , Hardness.

He has a lot to do still but that was probably his best game.

Encouraging.

Gilmore was one of several Freo players that gave up goals today. FWIW, I thought he had a go and laid a few good tackles.

He tackles well when another player helps him...too many of his tackles are soft, should I say "Schofield like" tackles

Agree. He wont do anything special at AFL level.

Hayden would have hit a target.

Hey its been a rough day for all of us.

As it stands we’re still on that long road to success and the team is not there yet, lets not rest on our Loral’s prematurely.

For what its worth I start allot of positive threads as well

I reckon Gilly is a finisher, sure his kick today was crap in the dying stages, but many other players made huge mistakes (even Belly had a few horrible kicks). The problem is that we can't have too many finishers in one team. I don't think the contested side of Gillys game is good enough yet and he can't kick on his right boot. I'm not saying that he can't be pretty useful to the team, but I don't see him getting a game until he is ahead of our other outside finishing players (Headland etc).

It is always useful to have a scapegoat. He is young and learning how to play at the top level. He is going to improve with experience, and at this stage is in the best 22-30 players on our list, and will drift into the team on form, fitness and match-ups. All adds to our depth.

Errors from Bell, Mundy, Parker and Schammer resulted in goals from memory. That happens.

When I saw his name in the side in Yesterdays paper I thought they made a mistake. When I saw him run onto the ground I was furious. Why would you have him on the ground at the end of a tight contest, and from memory he contested the final centre bounce. WTF.

I'd prefer Webster, Peake, Walker, Drum, Murphy, Medhurst or Hayden to play ahead of Gilmore.

i agree 110% he is useless his decision making is shocking he just is substandard at AFL Level.

The young players that are given time showed a lot more than gilmore.looks to have good mobility for his size and would be very handy but looks to be struggling with the pace of the game at times.at the moment they arent going to be to many chances as they are trying to force the players to be consistant to get a game.

Gilmore will be a very good AFL player. It might not be at Freo but it will happen. Mark my words.

Having said that, he may need to be dropped this week. M Carr is so lucky. Our captain had also better stop giving up charity goals.
