Really happy with game today very hard working effort.

He seems so effective in the middle, could he make the move there permanently as a midfielder. He has had some good clearances recently.
He has a big boot, big body and could be just what we need.

He's played well all year. Infact most games he plays he does ok.

For whatever reason people only see his mistakes.

Kapow!! time to get on your buddy :p

Stays in all year for mine. 211 will find it hard to get back in to that team, and so he should. Warnock was good too !!

Cannot be dropped after that performance. Close to his best for the club, IMO. I've been a Gilmore basher (like most others on this forum), but if he continues to play like that, he will have a long career at the Fremantle FC.

He's playing for his career right now, like a lot of his teammates.

This may translate into a few more wins this year.

He did well, especially not sending in the high balls into the forward line. IF he could step up into a consistantly good player it would be a huge asset.

To be fair Gav , he has been showing a bit the last few games He has played.

I don't think He coughed it up once today and created great pressure when they had the ball.

His only blemish was a poster.

I would say about 90% of supporters have laid the boots into this man whether it was fair or not (not me though but I haven't rated him). Very good game today and he really showed some potential.:thumbsu:

It is amazing how well you can play with a bit of confidence under your belt. Well done Gilly, I had big doubts about your value, but don't rest on your laurels.

Best Game since he's been at club. Playe dlike someone who has confidence in teh caoch not dropping him nest week.

With Big Bird suffering from OP we'll need him in the ruck to kelp out the young'un

I'll come clean too even though i'm not a Gilmore basher i did quietly entertain doubts several times about his hardness in the contest and today was simply outstanding , good on him and let him put the pressure on the "new" coach to stay in the team coz even with Sandi in i can still find a spot for him on the bench:thumbsu:

I've liked Happy since he played HBF against the Pies at the Dome a few years ago.

Sometimes he thinks too much and stuffs it up, but the second half of this season he's been excellent.

Happy could come close to being Freo's answer to Adam Goodes. The coach should back him in for the rest of the year, play him in the middle and let him have a crack. Sandi and Warnock can ruck, Gilmore, Headland and Solly can rotate as the big midfielder, Josh and Belly the small one.

Was close to best on ground for me.

The guy has a way of getting the ball out of the midfield at clearances.

Gilmore had over 20 possessions and played less than half the game, so hypothetically he had a 45 possession game yesterday. :thumbsu:

Dodd out.
Sandilands in if he's 100% and play Gilmore on the wing or HBF.
If Sandilands isn't 100% I'd like to see Haddrill come in for Dodd, who was among Perth's best players yesterday.

Yep, agree with all that. I'd almost play Haddrill anyway - drop McPharlane?

Gilmore has played well the last couple of weeks and deserves a chance even with Sandi coming back into the team. The role he has been playing as back-up ruckman has been a role he is well suited to. He is only required to provide a contest in the ruck (which he has done very well), and is then basically free to roam around the ground and follow the ball to ensure he is there for any throw-ins. His real test will come if he is moved to an on-ball role and finds himself with an opponent - if he can more than break-even he may just finally start taking a step towards what we all had hoped he could achieve.

For those that don't know, Footy Classified gets the coaches to award votes to players fromthe weekends games. 5, 4 ,3 ,2 ,1 can go to a player from either team.

Pav got 10 votes, thats 2X5 votes from Harvey and Craig(I knew doing a mathematics degree would come in handy) BUT here's the news, Gilmore got 4 votes!

Now I am guessing that Neil Craig would most likely have given him 0 votes which means Harvey gave him 4 votes. That's second best on ground.

I think Gilly has the full backing of the Mark Harvey and will no longer be looked upon as a stop gap filler but be allowed and encouraged to play in the midfield if he's not in the ruck. At one stage I didn't think he'd play another game but this new coach thing might see him become an integral part of the side.
