It is pretty clear that we are needing a genuine CHF to take the pressure of Fev and have that extra avenue to goal...I only wish we had somehow managed to hang on to Kennedy as it looks like he will be a champion of the future, but i guess you have to rob peter to pay paul and clearly the addition of Judd to the club is doing wonders for the CFC.

Right now I can't see Hartlett or Edwards slotting into that CHF position, Fisher is a very good and important player to us, but more of a flanker than a key position type. It will be interesting to see what the club does with the Cloke/Kreuzer/Hampson situation and how exactly all three fit into the side...

Now I will cut to the chase, there is a boy down at Hawthorn called Timmy Boyle, who I really think the Hawks rate, but he is starved of opportunities at Hawthorn due to the obvious preference for Franklin, Roughead, and Mark Williams leaving little room for this bloke to slot in....

This is a player I really think Carlton should take a look at once the trading period comes around....

I don't like the idea of building a side to challenge for a flag with players not good enough to get a game at other clubs. Especially to fill a crucial position like CHF.

I'm not so sure Boyle fits into the CHF mold. See him more as a third tall playing within 50, as opposed to being a strong target leading up the ground.

100% agree. Weve got fish for that.

A decent CHF like harts is what we need. GET ____ING FIT!

Boyle is pretty average.
I think we are a better chance of trading to get a half decent key position backman and returning Waite up forward next year.
I think he has to stay back this year though sadly.

Last thing we need is another forward who is injury prone with tissue paper hamstrings.

I personally don't rate him very highly. I'd rather us go after a younger developing forward (i.e. Dowler - maybe not him specifically, but similar type players)

IIRC we tried to trade for him end of last season, but Hawthorn wanted too much in return.

Hawthorn had Boyle on the table in an offer for Thornton. Carlton knocked it back as they wanted a late first round pick (I think it's something like that..)

Boiler is not a bad footballer, just Roughie and Buddy are ahead of him.
He cant take Willo's spot because then we would be too tall.

Put up a reasonable defender and it could be a good trade.

Boyle is a very average footballer. If we're going to target Hawthorn talls then we should look at Beau Dowler or Mitch Thorp.

Carlton need to target players like Mitch Thorp, Dowler, Mitch Clark from Brisbane or possibly even Hansen from West coast as to take the next step to move up the ladder we really need another tall option up forward, as the quality teams will reduce Fevola's effectiveness without some more forward options.

As has been said, Tim Boyle and Brad Fisher are the same type of player, but Fisher is better.

I'd be open to Mitch Thorp. Might be able to get him for a second round pick and a mid-range player.

No .. if you want Thornton, which we all know you do, put up Roughead and will start the discussions.;)

Would love Thorp, but I get the feeling Hawthorn might want more than that for him.
