The race for Melbourne's leading goal kicker is on like donkey kong.

Brad Miller - 24
Austin Wonaeamirri - 23
Russel Robertson (final tally)- 20
Brad Green - 19

Best of the rest: Sylvia (15), Bruce (12), Bate (12), Morton (12), [Newton (8)]

Master Bate's (fictional) market:

Miller $1.85
Wona $2.35
Green $8
Any other player $81

Go Miller. Miller's output has been great up forward - especially against North. Unfortunately, he has to beat about three opponents at a time due to lack of other dangerous targets. He is dangerous near goals.

How far back do we have to go to find a leading goalkicker with a tally of less than 30 (this seems a likely outcome unless someone goes quite berserk)?

I'd say if we win a game Miller is a chance to break 30.

But to answer your question, from what i can tell checking quickly, seems like you have to go back to 1977 to find a melbourne leading goal kicking with less then 30 goals(Farmer & Neitz both kicked exactly 30 in 1997). In 1977 Ross Brewer kicked 27 goals in 19 games in a season where we only won 5 games.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Miller and Wonaeamirri shared the goalkicking award (on 30 goals) just like Neitz and Farmer did in 1997. Two key forwards, and two Aboriginal goalsneaks.
