One of the most under estimated champions of the AFL and one that can proudly boast that he puts in 110 percent for his club, team mates and supporters every single week. This is evidentual by his consistantly high possession and goals each and every week, even if he is heavily manned up.

A few threads have suggested that not many Geelong players can say they do this. I believe himself and Gary Ablett are the two who can honestly say they put in every single week, no matter the situation, no matter the scoreboard. Both should and (at this rate rate) will be selected AA because those two are the most valuable players Geelong have....

Agree that Chappy is in our top 5, probably top 3 players atm.
However, there are even things he can improve on. When Nablett got tackled from behind in the centre square against Kangaroos, the replay showed Chappy lying on the ground only metres away (after being tackled), just watching. Sure, he wasn't able to get up in time, but what happened to talking to your teammate?
The replay showed he just watched Nathan get tackled, then watched the ball get turned over.
This was at a crucial point in the fourth quarter, when we were pushing ourselves back into contention. If Nablett had gotten rid of it, gotten it into our forward line, we may have kicked another goal, and the game could have been very different.
Sure, that incident didn't lose us the game by any stretch of the imagination, but it's those kinds of 1%ers that make a BIG difference.

I love Chappy, and think he is committed more than anyone pretty much at the GFC, but he isn't perfect. So, encourage, give him credit, but let's not go TOO far over the top!;)

Are you sure it wasn't D. Johnson??? I remember seeing the same thing and drawing the same conclusion, but could sware it was Johnson.

Also, the replay was in slow motion and although it looked like Chappy/Johnson was just lying there, it happened much quicker than the replay makes out.

I'm almost 100% it was Chappy, especially now DJ has let a three day growth appear on his noggin, it's easier to tell them apart.
Yeah, it would have happened quick, but even I could see it coming in enough time to yell at the TV screen. Chappy should have been aware enough to do it too. But, really, a bit picky on a guy who had a good game.

I don't think he has started the year as well as he would have liked. He has been his hard at the ball self, but his form has been patchy. But he certainly played better against the roos last week-end. One of the few that can hold his head up after that debacle.

Was definitely Chappy, noticed it too, was disappointed

Chapman is a fantastic player!

The guy should be knighted, canonized and made prime minister. Absolute legend. If there's one player on the Geelong list who you would bet your house on to put in 120% week in, week out, then it'd have to be Chappy. He seems to get better every year. :thumbsu:
