You probably have done yourself a mischief in the ligament that attaches to the forearm bone. Drop the weight down. ow weights, high reps actually build a much more solid inner core of the muscle. Learn to walk before you can run.

I tore the bicep off my bone in the upper bicep years ago, curling 55kg, It aint worth it because now I can barely do 30kg now. Slow gradual increases and variability in terms of reps is more beneficial especially if your under 21yo

I'm looking to bulk up, not tone up. Thats why i'm lifting heavy to failure. If i did something to the ligament, wouldn't that mean i couldn't lift it anymore?

Also, could dips play any part in it?

Is it inner arm or at the back.

How old are you? Lifting to failure is good if your heavy set and have muscle mass to tear, if you are lean, then failure inevitably means that the weakest link in you fails and that is ligaments.

OK, take tonite for instance, (I'm 42, 5foot 8, 89kg, 9% body fat). I did Bi's and Tri's. I did 4 sets 60 curls with 7.5kg on a dumbell. Now I defy you to do that and not get benefit. I am not placing excessive strain on ligaments and I am struggling to get the last five out. That type of training will benefit a younger leaner body where your ligaments are not yet developed in terms of elasticity and you bone density is not a dense as it will get when you are mid twenties. Anyone who reccomends kids to train to failure should be shot. Train to build the inner muscle density, size will come as a result of that density, you need to lay the foundations first. You will do yourself an injury that will set you back years, and I mean years.

Its not what you want to hear, but its what you need to hear.

man, weights are so bloody complicated. I just need to put on afew extra KG, i don't care about looking good, i need more strength and size for next season, no matter how much hard work is involed. I'll take what you said on board, thanks dude, appreciate it.

Right now though, i'm out in the south because i need sleep.

A couple of years back i got a knock to my leg playing football which hurt like crazy and after the bruising there was a large lump there that stayed for several months, i went to the doctor and he said it was a heamatoma (sic) which apparently is a pooling of blood in one area. It wasnt dangerous anyway. I think i went to the physio a few times and they massaged the area which hurt like crazy but pushed the blood away from the area.
maybe something like that?
