Anyone see the hit Simon Black put on godfrey on sat night? It was a really low act, 30m from the play, swinging fist to the head. Happened about 20m from where I was sitting.

Godders stayed down for a good couple of minutes so it was no soft hit. Black should really be suspended for that.

Godders has now been hit, what, 3 or 4 times behind play? Really deserves our respect for going out there each week fully knowing the treatment he's probably going to receive.

P.S. We really laid into Black after that, fortunately we were near the lions dugout so we had plenty of chances to get well and truly stuck into him :D

He is as gutsy as they come and sometimes doesn't get the plaudits he deserves around here.

So far this year hes been hit by West, Goodes and Black, not a bad hit list and we all know the running tift he has had with Crawf for a good few years now.

There is no doubt '07 has been his best year, some of the jobs he has done have been terrific, throw in a couple of other highlights (selling the candy on QB and the spoil in front of Lloyd) and he must be a chance for top 5 in the B+F.

Absolutely. After he was down for a few minutes, the trainer came out to see how he was going, but in typical godfrey fashion he waved him away and got up to find to black again, although you could see after his first few steps he was clearly groggy.

My respect for him grew tenfold after that.

Tough, uncompromising and fearless. We wouldn't be 2nd bottom if all Melbourne players showed his heart and courage!
