Which one of our out of contract players do you see going up north? Bruce and Miller look to be the most likely but there are others.

Also guess what kind of compensation we'd get for them...

Miller can go where he wants and I think he will end up somewhere, as for Bruce he could probably go too but it wouldn't matter that much if he did although I'd like to see him play his whole career at the Demons

From your thread title I thought you wanted the team to relocate to the Gold Coast :P

That was the intention :p

There's no wait, I'm just curious as to who people on here think we're going to lose, and will we get adequate compensation?

If we got a draft pick at the end of the first round that would be quite good.

Jones could also go. Have we signed Jordie yet?

If the GC want a ruck/forward they could take Spencer/Meesen/Newton.

Meesen is not a spud, he was in our 22 before he got injured, it has been awhile so most have you must have forgotten

He had played four decent games when the stress fractures in his foot came back. He was too injury prone to reach spud status.

this!

Colin Sylvia played with that bung foot for a couple of weeks and a few people were on this board were getting antsy over him.

Injuries kill careers just ask Luke Molan.

There's is a mammoth difference between Colin Sylvia and John Meesen, care to guess what it is?

Answer: One has played many very good to great games and the other has played about 2-4 decent games and spent a year in the VFL and pretty much the rest injured.

No, my reasoning was injury affects you a lot. Meesen was injured after he broke into our 22. He wouldnt have budge imo if he didnt get injured.

Jamar and Meesen would be awesome but as it looks like as we are going after Hale it could be the end of the road for Meesen which sucks.

You are getting carried away with a couple of decent games, Meesen was never going to be more than a stop-gap solution.

Meesen is done regardless of whether we get Hale or not, Fitzpatrick and Gawn are better off getting game time ahead of him even if Meesen was 100% fit which is extremely unlikely to happen again.

Im not saying we are only going to get rid of meesen because of getting hale, i am saying getting hale is showing we are going to get rid of meesen.

And i disagree Messen was a stop gap player, we paid higher than we should have for a stop-gap if that is indeed the case.

We gave up pick 37 in the 07 draft for him when he would have been 21 and he was a former 1st round pick.

I remember a glorious era on this board where all our ruckmen were stopgaps until we drafted Natanui.

Meese was clearly an "oh shit all our ruckman are crap" panic selection after White left. Didn't pay a massive amount, didn't work at first, looked like it might, then didn't again. No great harm done.

SEN Just reported Bruce is holding out for a two year contract though the Dee's won't budge from a 1 year deal. I think at 31 a one year extension is a fair deal.

If he is good enough next season he will get an extension, though if age continues to catch up with him as it has the last couple of years then a 1 year contract is about right!

GC is looking more likely, and I hope the club stands firm and doesnt allow Bruce to hold them to ransom.

If he doesn't want to be here, I say we let him go.
