Was amazing today!!!
Gave poor Maric and that spud Vickery a bath!!!! Vickery got one with bubble bath for extra pleasure!!

A big, big reason we turned that game around.

Maric was completely outplaying him early and our midfielders weren't getting that first use, hence we got destroyed in the clearances in the 2nd. In the second half Goldstein just bounced back and destroyed both Maric and Vickery. Some of his taps were so smart.
 
Credit to him for turning his game around. Was woeful early but came out after half time like a different player. Just worked his arse off and was able to get to more contests. Started taking some marks then must have felt some confidence as kept it up till the end.
Great second half from the big fella.

Maj did give him a fair chop out in the beginning.... and Drew gave him one later.... Drew in the ruck is useless though...

He's not though, that's the thing.

He's not a dominant ruck man, but he doesn't need to be. He's actually at the top end of second ruck men in the comp. dunno why people think he can't do the job when he has for three years.

Maybe there's the age argument, as in it will reduce Drew's time in the game, but when he's out of form it's a way to get him in the game.

Goldie also thrives being one out, as shown tonight in the second half in particular.

If Maj plays it needs to be as a forward, with the ability to help in the ruck. Shouldn't be in the team because he can ruck.

He's just got to remain mentally switched on for four quarters. He stuffed up early in the third was mad as hell at himself was great to see.

I dont think he can ruck.. but feel free to prove me wrong...

In regards to Maj.. no he must be in there as a forward and a decent chop out ruck.... he looked ok tonight... just...not enough footy smarts at the moment.... the goal on the run could have been kicked... all he needed to do was keep running... and the pass to Black needed to be made.... had he done that would have been a nice half from him...
 
took that one on one contested grab against the mullet (the tiggers mullet) and didn't look back for the rest of the game
 
Haven't seen him play like this since 2011, was an absolute beast, more please Goldy.

Few blokes slagging him off early too. I honestly think most players were OK early, reality is Richmond came at us hard, and once we realised we had to earn it we stepped it up a notch!

I like your ability to defend players, especially those not worthy of the criticism, however Goldy played his first good game in this the 11th game of the season playing on an underdone ruckman in his second game back for the season. Hardly something to write home about.

Let's hope this is the confidence boost Goldy needed to finish off what should be a big year!

I had a look at the stats at 1/2 time and Goldstein was getting absolutely thumped at the center bounce by Maric and it's no coincidence that Richmond were dominating the center clearances.

After 1/2 time Maric ran out of steam as underdone footballers do and Goldy's game went to another level. Goldy's ruck work in the second 1/2 was simply sublime he gave us first use in the middle and this was the ignition point for our midfield to work their way back into the game. After 1/2 time the center clearance work of Goldstein, Swallow and Greenwood was amazing!

Greenwood beat the Richmond captain and was best on ground.

This was Goldy's best game of the year.
