Can anyone give me who they think would make a good Top 5 bet this weekend?

Who will do better out of Scott, Ogilvy & Allenby?

Scott is in the best form of those 3 players. But i believe Stuart Appleby will win it and for a couple of roughies Kevin Stadler at $51 to win and Richard Green at $26.

I would say Tassie's own Matthew Goggin ($41 for win, $10 for top 5) or even Paul Sheehan (same price). Although, in saying that i think it will finally be Adam's turn, he is much more mature now and will probably destroy the field...

If golf form looked like horse racing form, Scott's would say:
Track: many starts 0-0-0

I'm sure he'll probably make me eat my words, but the bloke just doesn't win in Australia.

Thanks for that.

I've put $50 on Goggin at $9 for Top 5 (I'm from Tassie and was thinking along those lines already) & $200 on Geoff Ogilvy at $2.80 for Top 5 (I just think he goes about his business well and I like the slightly longer odds on offer than say with Scott).

I think betting on the winner in a golf tournament is a waste of time. 1 in 144 chance (admittedly you could remove most from this equation) and it only takes a few bad shots out of 280 odd to cost you the win.

Anyone give Aaron Baddlely a chance? He has a wonderful record at this event. I just grabbed this text bite off his website. What are his odds? I notice he is in Ogilvy's group for round one so maybe they will feed off one another and get off to a good start. :)

"In 1999 Aaron became the youngest player (at 18 years, 8 months and 11 days) to win the Open as an amateur. In 2000, Badds turned pro just prior to the Open and blew everyone away when he successfully defended his title and claimed his 1st professional victory. In 2001 Aaron missed the Open as he was at qualifying school for the PGA Tour. In 2002 he finished 2nd and then in 03/04 he had more sweet finishes placing in the top 20. Last year Badds had another strong week and finished equal 5th."

I see centrebet are offering 200/1 that Allenby wins all 3 and 1.16 that he wins none.
If anyone thinks he can get the clean sweep again....

Great tournament, this will go down to the wire.
Green looked at the scoreboard, saw how far clear he was and choked big time, anyones game now.
Appleby & Rumford the way they're playing will go very close.
rumford was 31/1+ an hour or so ago only 2 shots off the lead.
