So - are there any that folks could recommend? Does the AFL do any that seem decent and get a regular updating? Any done by regular folks, or that are Crows specific? Does 5AA podcast?

Any thoughts you guys have greatly appreciated ...

AA does do podcasts - last year they did have one specifically for the sports show but they have canned that this year and just have one for the whole station that occasionally has some stuff from the sports show interviews.

The AFC website also started one last year called crow call and is yet to start it up again this year.

They are the only two that I know of Kristof, hope they help.

I should apply for a job at the crow call thingie.
You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've been told I've got a great face for radio.

Podcasts are really easy to do. A couple of the folks on this board should do a weekly podcast and put it up on BigFooty.

nice try. Maybe you can pay us $1000- per podcast as a show of your appreciation?

WTF? What is that meant to mean? Besides the fact I have no idea who the hell you are, I was making the observation that there are no decent AFC podcasts and that they're pretty easy to do. It seems like a nice gap someone could fill.

i have no idea who i am either. + sorry if you are offended. Was just pointing out that no-one in their right mind would waste their time doing it (i think). So you would be hard pushed finding someone to do it. i went on to say if you paid someone a $1000- per a podcast you may find more people attracted to it.

The AFL do one, http://afl.com.au/rss/podcasts-2_0.xmlupdated on a Monday. Last year, it was Crackers Keenan and Paul Gough, and a pretty general run through of the previous weeks results/injuries/likely reports, and a little look ahead.

The official AFC one http://afc.com.au/rss/crows/crowsPodcast-2_0.xml was about 20 minutes long and came out about a Tuesday lunchtime. The general format seemed to be an interview with a player and maybe an assistant coach, and either a "yay we won" or a "didn't we try hard even though we lost" spiel.

The "Footyheads podcast" http://footyheads1.libsyn.com/rss has "the best of Rex Hunt" (for what that's worth, "the Tipsters companion" with odds and predictions, and "The Agenda Setters", a short (10-15 minute) panel with Craig Hutchinson, Caroline Wilson and Mike Sheahan, early in the week. Whether that floats your boat depends on whether you like any of the above mentioned journos.

Footytalk http://www.footytalk.com.au/?feed=rss2 came out generally weekly during last year - it tended to go on a bit for mine - from memory, the semi final one went for the best part of 2 hours. It's one of the only 2 "regular folk" podcasts that I know of on the AFL - there's another one by some bloke calling himself Molly, but it doesn't as well for me - I prefer more of the panel type show with a few different voices.

If you are into the Coodabeens or Roy and HG, their shows are podcast by the ABC - the Coodabeens is edited down to a 1 hour highlight from a 2 hour show, and I think all of "this Sporting Life" is podcast.

Hey Marvin,
I am the Molly dude and I agree that generally the panel shows are the best. I pretty much do mine for a bit of fun and also as a way to get out my opinions as I rarely have time to call the radio talkback. You can find it at http://afl.mollyzine.com.

My favourite AFL Podcast is the Footytalk.com.au podcast. Disco and the Explosion are extremely humours. The rising star is the TPN AFL show (http://afl.thepodcastnetwork.com). These guys are pretty funny and they also do a video show most weeks as well.

HTH
