The Lions received some good news about ruckman Beau McDonald late this afternoon, with scans revealing the big man does not have a stress fracture of the foot.
In fact, McDonald is still rated a chance to play this Saturday against Carlton at Optus Oval.
Big Beau woke up with a sore foot last Saturday, the day of the Round 8 clash with the Crows, and was forced to withdraw after intensive physiotherapy failed to ease the pain.
There were fears that he had sustained a stress fracture, but scans this afternoon revealed no major problem.
McDonald’s foot is still inflamed, however, and he has been listed for a fitness test later in the week.
