Sometimes, living in Victoria and barracking for the Crows you get the chance to pump the chest and show why this is the greatest club in Australia.

The Red Cliffs junior Footy club sent letters to Essendon, St Kilda, Richmond and Adelaide asking for a player to come up and talk the the youngsters for the mid season dinner.

Not only were the Crows the only club to respond to the letter but they sent the Birdman up to attend the night. (I've got his autograph to prove it). This won't mean much to many people and maybe the 'percentages' weren't there but Brett's appearance meant a lot to a bunch of kids and has been spoken about in glowing terms up here. FYI Red Cliffs is just South of Mildura and 120 K's the Vic side of the SA border.

We also had Benny Hart up here a couple years ago so its gets fairly easy to understand why some Vic clubs are struggling for support.

A couple of months ago a southern Adelaide school was burnt down and everything was lost. The school wrote letters to both Port and the Crows asking for any donations of sporting equipment as all of it was lost.

Port rang the school and said "sorry but all our footballs are too big for school kids". However the Crows not only donated a dozen brand new sherin footys they also sent local hero Ryan Fitzgerald down there with Graham John**** to present them to the principal.

Well done to the AFC...again
