People now arguing it's "intent" so even if Spargo hit it out of bounds Murray still intended for it to go out, so it should have been a free kick.
Aahhh I actually see that point.

....so every time we kick a point from now on, it really should be given as a goal, because the goal was our intent.

I like it.

Fun Facts with Grotto.

The Crows in Year 2 of a rebuild vs Carlton in Year 20 of their rebuild have the exact same number of wins, that is 4.

But lets delve deeper into those wins, with Fun Facts time.

The Crows have beaten 3 teams that were in the 8 at the time, Geelong, Gold Coast and Melbourne, with the caveat being that the Cats were the runners up in the 2020 GF.

The Blues have only beaten 4 bottom 8 sides.

At no stage in Carlton's debacle of a rebuild have they ever beaten a team on top of the ladder.

What is even sadder is when we get to play Carlton we will lose to the mother ****ers!

Didn't realise it until I read it on Fox Sports. No one has scored more than 73 against the Demons this year until this game. That's a huge effort, one reason the Demons had won every game was because they were shutting teams down offensively.

Again, I really couldn't care less.
Let him be right. So what if we got away with something and stole the game.
I don't feel an ounce of guilt and i definitely don't feel less deserving. I just think about friggin time something went our way and no one can do anything about it.
I sit here and couldn't have a bigger grin on my face thinking the footy gods have actually smiled on us for once.
I know what you mean. I'm hell-happy too, but in the case of the so-called 'deliberate' handball, the Crows didn't "get away with" a thing.
Throw-in was the correct call from Umpires who often screw the Crows in a pressure situation like that.
The Crows didn't steal the game. They won it. How sweet it is! :D :hearts:

The smile on my dial is for multiple other reasons, eg
--- fighting back from 16 down with 7 minutes of play left against a very good side, undefeated after 9 rounds.
--- Murray's tackle on Gawn.
--- Tex's composed, clinical finish (just went with "the process", he said later, as advised by Seeds but that takes nerve)
--- the passion and desperation they showed in that last 43 seconds, and
--- their joy at the end.

Despite dodgy non-free kicks at the end (x2) Crows deserved the win.
Well, non-holding the ball decisions were happening all game and Keays actually did dispose of it legally although in any other game he would've held it too long. In the deliberate out of bounds decision another camera angle clearly showed Spargo was the last to touch the ball. Great game by both sides though nevertheless.

I couldn't care less if no Melbourne player touched it and we blatantly got away with favoured umpiring decision, in fact I like this even more, to make up for all the times we've been screwed when in that situation.

Yeah it was 100% deliberate and yeah I love that we got away with it.
I felt that way with the Jenkins showdown. I actually hoped the ball had hit the post and we got away with it. 😆

y'know so many people are arguing it should have been deliberate out of bounds, so for once I'm prepared to concede to the majority opinion.

Since a Melbourne player touched the ball last that'd mean it should have been a Crows free kick, yet another one missed that game.

No need to imagine dude. Account was opened last week, well before the Crows match.
And thanks for using your 2 of your 11 posts on our board.

I still havent recovered from the 2017 GF when Betts was held in the goal square in the 2nd quarter. :$

And that was not the worst of that umpiring shitshow against us.
Yeah, that's the single worst memory I have of that match.
Note that Betts is held by both oppo hands, well-shielded by the Richmond defender's body. I have no doubt that is Coached --- Hardwick was a hard nut but also a grub --- and Richmond do that sh1te better than most, especially in crowded marking packs.
If you can stomach it, watch this; there's a classic example at 0.32 in and plenty of other howlers pinpointed.

clearly showed Spargo was the last to touch the ball
I still haven't seen one camera angle that clearly shows this. It could have been touched, but saying it's clearly been touched? I think that's a bit far.

Gee thanks --- whoever said that 'patronising' is not nice? Fishing for some likes, you mutt?

I assume you mean the so-called 'deliberate' handball, as one of them.
Have a look at the post by Redleg Crow on Page 36, as well as other numerous gifs and vids that show:
1) the ball was clearly deflected by Spargo, who touched it last and
2) Spargo makes no outraged appeal for 'deliberate'. Why? He knew it was a throw-in.

Go make yourself a sh1te sandwich out of losing a game by conceding 3 goals in 7 minutes and your "dodgy non free kicks" claims, and choke on it --- for the rest of the season.

If it was deflected why from multiple other rules did it not deviate? The game cameras showed it go directly towards he was heading with the handball, oob. If he deflected it, why not change angle at all?

And it's true what he said, they were 2 horrible non-calls, but if we were 24 points up it wouldn't have mattered. Crows played awesomely.

And are you prepared to admit that there were horrible non-calls on HTB going the other way too? Gawn for example?

I don’t get the offended over the Keays HTB. All game, every game, the umpires give the guy being tackled the time to legally dispose which Keays did. Melbourne didn’t bring him to ground nor restrict his arms so play on.

In live play it looked a bit htb, but I also don't get it. He got a fist to it. Petty should have held his hand for a second longer.

Why would I admit anything when you haven't? The only difference between the timing of the calls is game defining or not.
But if we were going to win we would have put your lot to bed already. It's annoying but the better team won. Why not focus on a deliberate that wasn't deliberate but paid, and then the one that was 100% deliberate but wasn't paid?

I just hate this sticking up for a deliberate because Spargo may or may not have "flicked the ball" as it went past his arm/hand"
