Would be great if Chrome could be be extended to replace File Explorer in Windows and Finder in Mac OSX.

Wow, with IE9 and the soon to be released Firefox 4(beta at this stage), things are looking pretty hot in the browser market so far....

IE in particular has really simplified it's facia but has it improved on security?

Firefox 4 has also streamlined theirs and I think is a lot quicker....

Chrome set the scene with it's minimalist approached but with IE and FF revamping their web browsers to match, it's going to get interesting over the next few months :thumbsu:

Anyone have a better way of viewing pdf files in Chrome than the default way? Is there anyway you can still view them using adobe in Chrome like you used to?

if you type in
Code:
about:plugins
in your address bar you can disable the chrome pdf viewer and enable adobe reader (if it's installed). i think when you upgrade chrome to the version that had the pdf reader it automatically disabled adobe reader..

You've made my work much easier.

You have my gratitude :thumbsu:

Irrelevant to me what MS does and what IE becomes. Will never use it.
You should get use to using a little bit of everything, it makes life a lot easier.
I use to have the same attitude to all things Mac but it has it's advantages as well as all the rest

As it stands I use Win7 for my O/S (still can't fault it:thumbsu:), Chrome for my browser, Ubuntu for my downloading machine and a VM of Snow Leopard I use when I get bored of W7...

Variety is the spice of life :)

Running OSX at home so my browser choices exclude IE thankfully. Even when I use Windows, it's still Chrome or Firefox for me.

yeah I have them all bookmarked, including memory.

Does anyone know why so many processes get kicked off when you run Chrome?

EDIT: nvm, I looked it up
- 1 for the browser
- 1 for each tab
- 1 for each enabled extension (0 for each application even though they're listed in chrome://extensions/)
- 1 for Shockwave Flash plugin (sometimes)

It took me ages to find it. When I finally got it working it was in Russian (or maybe greek can't remember) so it was fun trying to find the language settings but I eventually did and bingo, all good..

Mmm:rolleyes:......I use both now in fairly equal amounts so I'm actually quite familiar with both.

W7 has introduced new features that OSX hasn't got, hence the reason(one of many) I wouldn't do the swap.

Personally Aero Peek and the snap screen of W7 totally blows Macs dock out of the water.

Apple have done one hell of a convincing job with their customers on all their products given that pretty much most of it was "lifted" from other peoples resources ...

Lets see, OS stolen from Linux(open source, free of charge), Hardware stolen from PC(Intel, NVIDIA), IPAD/IPOD touchscreen tech stolen from the likes of IBM/Microsoft/Tablet PC's etc, etc not to mention the law suit the US gov slapped on MS in 1997 that knee jerked them into bailing Apple out of the shit....AND all at a pretty hefty cost.............:thumbsd:

Nah.....can't see me swapping for that dictatorship just yet ;)

install bettertouchtool on mac and you'll have the snap screens on osx :)

and u can hardly say they based the OS on linux.

both linux and OSX are unix based operating systems - that's where the relationship ends.

So your telling me that W7 provides the snap screen as a standard feature and OS X doesn't, ce n'est pas possible....

Come on, UNIX has been around for ages.....Linus Torvalds adapted it into Linux which is freely available in many forms...Apple decided that it was the way to go so "rearranged their OS to suit by 'adapting it at a price'".

They also realised that PC components namely Intel, nvidia (to name a few) were the way to go so they managed to convince the public and hide it to their millions...

They then preceeded to rip all of it off as their own to the easily influencenced as an innovative idea then.....BANG, bringeth the new wheel...the MACBOOK, IPad and lets not forget the one that kicked them back them from death the Iphone ...

I'm not saying Apple is a bad product.....However, I still persist that their rise has been from a gift hand from the US Government in 1997 (google it) the way they adopted an very stable but staid OS like Linux and the nazi way they run their empire right now.

I guess the many ARE easily fooled and there appear to be... well....MANY.....
