Handing out VC allows one to see much.
This idea I like. Anybody got one in OZ? Any good?
What do you think about them? I would seriously consider planting a chip in a child that would do the same thing. A semi conductor chip should be the size of an atom soon, so obviously possible.
You can track your kid via the web or phone.
What's your opinion?:o

Pro: If you child is abducted/missing, you will have a good chance of locating them quickly.

Con: Just another way for parents to become more lax about parenting and supervision and relying on something/someone to care for their kids rather than do it themselves.

The Con's outweigh the Pro's, sure if your child was abducted it would be perfect as you could quickly and easily locate your child but child abduction very rarely happens and isn't enough of a problem to justify taking childrens child hoods away from them.

It's just an ability to know where they are. If kids are doing something or going somewhere that they don't want their guardians to know about, they sshouldn't be allowed out in the first place.

They should also have a functionality to send an electric shock through the apparatus. And a ball and chain hanging off it.

They already have those Mobs - they are called 'parents'. If of course the parent is a responsible parent.

Put a wristband or chip or whatever on/in a kid, and they'll only become more determined to do somethign wrong, and spend alot of time trying to work out how to deactivate the bloody thing.

Is 'trust' dead? A childhood wouldn't be a childhood without occassionally doing something you shouldn't or going somewhere you shouldn't, it is part of how we learn from right and wrong.

That should be an auto option if they watch Footy Show, Neighbours, Funny home videos etc.

Trust must be earnt, and the importance of trust must be learnt.

So instead of allowing children to earn their parents trust the parents just say 'who cares? no need, we have these tracking devices now'.

Doubt people buy b/c of a lack of trust. Most of the post sale stats I'm being fed is that people are buying b/c kids go missing e.g. shopping centres, back from school, camping ...etc. Better to track them asap than find them hungry or dead, and say, I told you so!

You never went anywhere in your younger days that your parents/guardians didn't know about..........??

I wouldn't think there would be too many kids that haven't done the same at some stage.......it's all part of growing up.........

No point "allowing children to earn their parents trust" unless there is some sort of ramification for NOT doing it. They won't comply. It used to be a smack or a grounding. That's all off-limits now. So, no smacking, but by golly lets put a leash on them.

I did, but I shouldn't have been allowed to. Look what I've become.
