Had a particularly dirty night. Costly turnovers which resulted in several opposition goals and shots on goals. Did some brilliant things, in an otherwise, dirty match, but had an unusually bad night for a player touted for possible AA selection in 2006.

You reckon? thought he had a pretty decent night out apart from a couple bad kick-ins and a missed hot hand-pass but other than that he was mr. reliable and continued to provide a lot of run from defence!

Agree with the opening post. Johncock was terrible last night.

Still will get AA back pocket though. Shame McLeod's out for 4 weeks, because in his form it would have been impossible for them to leave him out aswell. Now they have an excuse.

Agree that he had an ordinary night be his standards. Apart from his couple of bad kick ins in the first quarter we didn't get the same drive from his kick ins that we usually do. Credit to the Kangaroos perhaps? He ended up having to kick long to contests a few times.

The Veined One had a Barry Crocker last night - he looked a little embarrassed after the game....:D

I reckon he will be fuming all week and come out and have a blinder next week.

Certainly can't keep Stiffy down for too long........................... :p

I did say he did some brilliant things in the game, but, admittedly, he had a downer of a game by his standards. As others have mentioned, I think this will motivate him to play an absolute blinder next week against the weagles. :thumbsu:

I see that he still made the best players in The Advertiser though...

Bassett was named second best. Now, I know he had a bit of the ball, but he played loose in defence which left Wells free at the other end. How do you measure Bassett's game when the Kangaroos decided to concede possessions to him, thinking that Wells would be more damaging?

He is only human cant play perfect footy every week its good to see them make mistakes gets their mind back on the job.

Neil would love it just gives him an excuse to give him a little rev

Just hope no one calls for his dropping like they would if other players played a bad one like he did :p

I agree that Stiffy didn't stand as tall and proud last night as he usually does. ;)

His main downfall though was his disposal which is normally his strength. He still found plenty of the footy though, so no real problems IMO.

And if the problem persists see your local doctor.

I reckon we've become a bit spoilt. We're so used to our players performing like superheroes week-in week-out we've forgotten that they're human and can have the odd quiet one.

For instance Edwards and Reilly were nowhere men last night - the latter especially. In comparison Stiffy was fantastic.

All this proves is that our current lineup is like the hydra. You cut one head off and another emerges.

Fantastic signs going into the serious stuff.

I hope I am not telling stories out of school but 2 week ago (a few days before the Sydney game) Graham Johncock cousin who was only 28 (Harry Miller uncle) died of a heart attack and they were rather close. I guess that may have explained why his head may not have been in it last week (he had a few brain fads as well) maybe he isn’t fully over it.

Yeah, Stiffy had a shocker, but considering his great season so far, it's just a minor blip ... he will bounce back next week. Can't expect a player to dominate every week! The good thing about this team, is if someone is down, the rest pick up the slack.

We have seen something this year that we haven't seen for yonks. For the second week in a row Edwards really struggled and couldn't get near it all night.

I can't remember the last time he played 2 bad games in a row.

Hmmm, Stiffy, I'm not sure why you are commenting on this man's problem of hardness... Of course you are giving the thumbs up!

Despite not having his best game on Friday night, he still managed to get in the Advertiser's best players.

It wouldn't surprise me on Brownlow night if he actually polled a vote for this game because it would have been a hard night for the umpires to work out best players and Stiffy did have a bit of it.

Speaking of which, does anyone else rate Stiffy a good outside chance for the Brownlow?

I have to say that it was the worst game I can think of that I have seen Stiffy play. Some unusal lapses in judgement, some costly mistakes. But I'm sure he will bounce back.

Up until it was announced that he'll be missing the next 3-4 weeks I would of wagered on Macca picking it up. Has been absolutely sensational this year and is much more of a proven vote winner than Goody.
