Rumours were that some senior players (potentially including Wright) may have even vandalised Bucks' car when he was first traded to us as well.

I'm sure this is all history now and they will all be focused on winning premiership number 16.

Correct - from what I saw at training a couple of weeks ago, he is very hands on with the younger players of which we have a lot and I was really impressed with his communication out on the track.

From speaking to mates previously at Box Hill where he coached, he is a terrific teaching coach, and I know some staff at Hawthorn not in the footy department who say you would be hard pressed to find a nicer bloke too.

So, another recruitment of a person to a role that is not the role they made their name in.
Its the Collingwood way after all.
Coach who has never been a head coach, or even had other club coaching experience.
A ruck coach who was a full time full forward throughout his career.....
I could go on.
But I doubt a thousand words would alter the rusted on’s perception that the club can do no wrong....

Collingwood has appointed Damian Carroll to the position of Head of Academy, with responsibility for overseeing the club’s development programs.

Neither scenario however has anything to do with Graeme Wright, or ridiculous allegations that Wright has demanded conditions

Or the club may have decided already, looks like the club is going in new directions. It might be unlikely and is certainly speculative - most certainly surprising (pleasantly) that if the club has directed Bucks (and or Sando / Harves) to 'finish on a good development year'.

After all the letter we all got that letter from Mark Anderson that basically conceded that 'we are looking to improve from within' (from a list perspective).

That may be a concession that we are no longer contending, who knows.

In any case certainly gives Wrighty a full plate to work with!

I well and truly missed that news as well, so you (Quicky) aren' t the only one (who missed it)!! I was quite surprised to see his name brought up the other day, and wondered how it had suddenly appeared! It does seem like another good appointment for the club, so I'm happy with that "news" as well!

We've lost Longmuir, then Boyd who replaced him, as well as Hocking and Rocca in the last few years. I think we're a bit short. This might be Wrights first chance to influence.

I don’t really think he’ll be able to until 2022 because things will be tight in 2021. The only one I think they’d look at replacing is Rocca, but Grundy hasn’t needed a ruck coach for a while and I doubt they’ll be keen to invest in someone to effectively coach Lynch and Cameron. I think that’s why Rocca worked well because he could help the depth guys and chop out in other areas.
