Would have thought the better conversation to have on cycling right now is the Spring Classics.

The Tour and to a lesser extent the Giro get a lot of the attention but in terms of value for money as a spectacle in cycling nothing beats the classics. All out racing in a day where competitors rip each others arms and legs off in the generally crappy northern spring weather on the cobbled courses. There is no second chances, leads to defend or time to be gained in a TT. First past the post gets the W (or in Boonen's case gets to enjoy a line of coke and an underage girl).

Tour of Flanders won by Cancellara on the weekend. Was awesome to watch him break Boonen up the Muur after they had both gapped the main group.

Paris to Roubaix, the race no wants to do but everyone wants to win, next weekend to see these 2 in a rematch, and then on to the hilly classics the following week. Would be great to see Haussler mix it up with them, he will make a great classics rider, but he is doubtful to race through his knee injury. I haven't seen it confirmed that he will not race but I doubt it.

Haussler is not racing any classics this year, he has changed his focus to the tour due to the injury. Paris-Roubaix is simply the best race on the calendar, awesome to watch. Fabian will win, he has too much horse power for boonen to mtach if he attacks.

Where did you get the info on Haussler?

I'm not sure how you leave out Danny Clark - 4 or 5 World championships, Olympic Silver, about 50 6-day races (huge in Europe).

PLus, Anna Meares only gets in because of her 'Gallant recovery from a broken neck' - well, Danny Clark still has a lump of steel in his leg from a crash, and he won a World Champs after that.

But all cyclists have had big crashes and broken bones.

And definitely O'Grady ahead of Anderson.

Like Craig Alexander but he hides his riding amongst swimming and running. Bloke is a legend in my eyes but triathlon ironmans are a diff world

Craig is a good bike rider but is not the best in the world of triathlon, nor is he the greatest triathlete ever (yet..), but currently he is almost unbeatable in the world of long course triathlon due to most races coming down to who has the fastest run...

best I have ever seen in person! Bloke has a massive heart and massive balls! Agree there are better riders.
