Kyle Reimers did well again today! The quick reflex handball to Stanton was who set up Monfries for a goal was 1 of the highlights & him kicking his 1st goal of his career too! Next week he can proudly say i played in James Hird's last match in Melbourne!

He did give away a free for bringing down ?Walker? after the ball was kicked out of the contest. But I am not too fussed, it is refreshing to see a bit of mongrel in a young bloke.

Yes was very good to see him play a good game. I thought Heath Hocking in his first game was very impressive.

That shouldnt have been a down the ground free anyway IMO! Just another soft soft free kick the umpires give!

Very good game should of had two goals, shouldn't have laid off the first one because it didn't turn it to anything.

But disapointed when he gave Carlton a goal because of him taking a carlton player high after the ball had been disposed.

To all those talking about the free kick, it WASNT THEIR.

Riemers was attempting to chase down a player and Walker came in and bowled him over.

One of if not the worst free kick paid in recent years.

I was absolutely disgusted, could not believe it,

Hopefully i'm going to get years of enjoyment watching this kid play. Has been fairly impressive thus far.

Is a quick learner as well. Made the mistake of being unselfish in the first qrt when within range, didn't quite come off. 2nd qrt, took the mark, went back and kicked the goal. Good stuff.

:thumbsu:

Totally agree - I thought the free kick WENT to Remiers because Walker took him out....!!! Have been saying since about Round 3 that it would be great to get him in the side. Great run and carry and a bit of pace......!!

Yes it was & i think it ended up being a goal to Laycock from a handball from Lloyd???

Lovett set that one up.

The Reimers play ended with Lloyd kicking a point from a set shot.

I really like this kid, has a crack and has the speed and skill to back it up. There is a tad of Aker about him.

I'm a big fan of Kyle. I was watching him throughout the warm ups and he didnt miss a target with either foot. His sideways movements continue to impress me, he just has a knack for getting around players. He has the flair a lot of our midifelders lack at the moment and smarts to put it into use.

I think Kyle will be a fine player, and will only improve as he builds the body required for AFL.

just would like to know if you think sheedy coached the team well this week as you bagged him last week maybe the players can take some blame not just the coach

Unfortunately this is irrelevant to this thread. It would have been better to start a new one but to answer your question it was Hird's speech to the players at half time that lifted the side. If James hadnt have played yesterday we would have lost! Sheed's didnt coach badly yesterday but he didnt coach great either

What a crock of sh!t.
Hird may have fired the side up a little, but he had nothing to do with the great team selections and also moves during the game. They were done from the coaches box.

Thats pretty ridiculous. What did Sheedy do wrong? And it is such a cop out to say it was Hirds speech that won the game. Did Hirds speech move Lucas down back to cover Fletcher? Did it move McPhee forward, and give more time for gus in the middle? Pretty amazing speech if so...

Im not saying Kevin did anything wrong, im saying that James speech to the players lifted the team after our dismal 1st half display.

So how can you not coach well but not do anything wrong. You cant just say he coached badly because you dont like him, and you cant possibly give Hird's speech all of the credit for winning the game either that is ridiculous.
