Farmer was way before my time, but of the aboriginal players I've seen, I rate Winmar tops. One of my favourite players of all time. Just extraordinarily gifted.

your right there buddy he was amazing an the respect he gave all the aboriginals when he lifted his shirt i think it was a big step foward for them

I voted Polly but I can't believe Barry Cable hasn't got a vote yet. These two for me are clearly the best.

Definately a biased decision but I've gone Longy. Just loved the bloke

Goodes just over mcloud, so I have 1st goodes 2nd mcloud 3rd jim kracker 4th polly farmer 5th wangernean an for those who voted farnklin comon his played only about 15 maximum good games goodes has 2 brownlows buddy needs a few more years unda his belt b4 u can rate him as a or the GREATEST aboriginal player

i vote goodesy!!!
but not because im a swannies supporter
nor because of his premiership or 2 brownlows

but for what he's done for the indigenous community off the field too

Cable.>>Farmer>>Mcleod>>Wanganeen>>Michael>>Matera>>Goodes

Not bad, although, like I stated before, I would have Farmer first. I also think you have Wanganeen too high, he played a lot of average games.

Well its hard to rank after that, all bloody good players. I reckon Lance Franklin might be up in the top bracket if he stays the course for his career

Yes, but that still remains to be seen.

As for Long, he'd only be ahead of Egan, McLean, The Burgoynes, McAdam and Chris Johnson.

McLean and Johnson, by a smidge.

Farmer, but I gave Cable a vote as 80% of bigfooty.com wouldn't have a clue if it fell on them..
It appears that they don't believe Cable was the greatest ever indigenous player. Just like yourself.

Everyone that voted for Michael Long has no idea about footy.

Agreed.

Can't remember the exact results, but remember thinking (as with most of the footballing community when asked these types of questions), there was way too emphasis on modern players.

IMO- Farmer, Cable, then a player noone seems to have mentioned, Maurice Rioli.
