I reckon a few Demons might get selected this year.
Defintely Green, but I think Jamar and Frawley have a pretty good chance as well.

Only if we get our sh1t together and win some games... Jamar would be a chance for 2nd ruckman, Frawley a better chance for FB possibly, can't think of a dominant FB so far this year... Lake? Green is the best shot at this stage.

8th on the goalkicking table. :thumbsu:
why wasnt frawley played?
Pulled out with back spasms. Was surprised Warnock replaced him, wasn't in the emergencies.

Not sure how full comparisons play out yet, but Greeny's kicked substantially more goals than Didak or Chapman so far this year- he's a little ahead of LeCras on that score too.

It's not just about goals.

He has nothing on Paul Chapman and Steve Johnson.

He's been great this season and is a slight chance for the squad but no chance of the final AA team.

Has to stay down forward, been a long time since we've had a 50+ goal player.

Made Bryce Gibbs look rather silly at times, the contested mark taken in the 2nd quarter was superb.

Chapman, LeCras, Didak just to name a few all in front of him I'd say.

Chapman as a mid yes, as a forward no. On a similar level to LeCras I would say.

I would have to say that green would have to be even if not ahead of Johnson. Look at the stats considering that the Cats have only lost two games vs a player in a team that has only won four games & has out scored any other player on the team by over 100 points.

On the other hand Johnson although being the highest scorer for the club has six other players who have out scored Melbournes next best forward.

How do you thing Johnson would do as the number one forward at the MFC?

If we look at the 2010 stats they are both close to selection for the same position.

Maybe either flank or pocket.

Green vs Johnson:

Green:
Score: 27-14
Kicks: 148
Handballs: 72
Marks: 72
tackles: 30

vs.

Johnson:
Score: 31-20
Kicks: 148
Handballs: 60
Marks: 65
tackles: 23

All in all he is not that far behind if at all.

Very similar indeed, but I suspect they will go with the player from a winning team rather than a potential bottom four team. Although I agree with the general sentiment in here, Green is definately worth of an AA spot at this stage.

Jamar would be a sneaky chance for the interchange, but other than that, I can't see anyone else making it. Frawley has been good but they'll pick from the likes of Scarlett, Lake, Fletcher, Taylor, Fisher, Tarrant...

I'd throw him in the pocket at this stage. Grimes, Jamar, Frawley and McDonald serious chances as well. Melbourne have had some stand out performers this year.

I'd be betting on these guys to make at least the extended squad. Rep honours obviously aren't our priority as this stage but it'd be a great boost for up and coming players like Grimes and Frawley.
