This we have picks 6, 40, 69, 85 for the young kids and then probably 2 picks in the PSD, so totaly about 5 or 6 picks available, plus add on the rookies as well.

Even still - I'd probably prefer us to keep Bannister, Wiggins etc. rather than taking a punt on a draft pick later than #80.

I'd back the guys that are prospective delistings to allow this extra draft pick, to have more successful careers than anyone we are likely to get at a pick that far down the draft order.

Just seems like a waste to me.

Any pick normally past around 60 is basically worth the same pick.
Most teams pull out around the 60 mark, so if you use pick 111 or pick 70 it is basically for the same player.

It's interesting. Clubs are going to be scraping the barrel for young talent this year before the introduction of Gold Coast.

Yes but if they get rid of players like HArtlett, bannister, maybe even Bentick etc. Well any players that arent in the mix, it allows us to replace them with 1st year players which we only have to pay 1st year rates to and therefore frees up more money to go after the big ones like ROK. It might free up an extra 200k which could be the difference between us and the scum getting him.

The logic would be to bring forward some of next year's delistings and in effect get first pick of the Rookies. The trade-off would be you'd carry them on the Senior List for two years at a higher salary. But Heading into two highly compromised drafts I can see the logic.
