Being mid twenties i have a couple of andrew gaze silver linings - my mate has such a receding hairline that he looks like jack nicholson. Both options suck at a young age, but which is worse?

Yeah Im 22 and have about 4-5 gray hairs plus my hair is receding a little, but its so thick that I dont think I will go bald

to answer the q balding is infinitly worse at any age!

Not sure why anyone in their right mind would pick greying hair?

1. Easy to put in hair dye
2. Can't regrow your hair sufficiently (despite what Greg Mathews tells you). Ever wondered why Plugger bailed out?
3. Toupe's look crap
4. Comb overs look crap
5. Grey hair doesn't look that bad anyway.

The answer lies on your mother's side of the family. I'd say if it's receding you'll be a baldy. Thickness hasn't much to do with it.

Actually, its often a question of which version of the Androgen receptor gene you have, which *is* an X chromosome linked trait, but its not a solely determining factor - various other things have to fall into line too.

For all of those worried about going bald, there *is* a 100% guaranteed solution; castration. Castrati *dont* go bald. Ever.

Having had to face the problem myself, i found the shaver a far more approachable solution. ;)

If you are going bald, go the shave. its the only thing to do, plus it does look good on some men.

Im early 30's and no sign of baldness or grey so everything is good in my genes, but I do get a sprinkling of grey through my beard.
Yeah I'm the same vintage (almost 31) and if I don't shave for a day or so, I'll get a few grey hairs on my chin, but get a few grey hairs on the back and on the sides of my head. Easy to spot because my hair's pretty dark.
I get them the worst in my eyebrows.

Come on at least when you are going grey, you still have hair. None of this no hair, ewwwwww that would be the worst.

Agreed. My mother's father was almost completely bald by the time he was in his very early twenties. I'm in my thirties now and still have a full head of hair. I think the old "it's on your mother's side of the family" theory is an old wives' tale.

And for the record, I'd rather be completely grey-haired than even slightly bald.

I would have to go with baldness because if I started going bald I would just shave the whole damn thing off.

I had a receding hairline when I was 16. I have had my head shaved for many years now. I started to grow it back a few months ago and realised that I have grey hair now, mainly just the sideburns, so I shaved it again. I am in my 30s now. With my shaved head people say I look in my late 20s whereas when I had the grey sideburns people said I looked late 30s-early 40s.

From a female point of view: grey hair can actually look good on a guy, can't really say the same for badly receding hair/comb-overs/toupes.

Agree with above comments: if it's receding beyond repair, go the shave!

I think grey would be worse, because a really good comb over, is considered quite a turn on to the ladies. Its a retro thing.

Got a few grey hairs but at my vintage it is exceptable and warranted. Have let it grow for 6 months now and not sure wether to go the dreadlocks or not. Might just stick to the wet and shake for a few more months.(no comb)

Anyway does anyone get them 5cm to 6cm long eyebrows. The must sprout over night.
