What Wandella need to do is spend money on quality players like Wakool and Ultima did. Identify what positions need reinforcing then target a player to fill that role. A dominant ruckman like a Wes Pye would be a good get. But then again pigs might fly!

Valid point Kid, but most people would know that Wandella have never been the biggest cash spenders going around. They have relied on local young talent sticking around, which they have had excess amount of over the past 5+ years being rewarded with 4 premierships.
A lot of their players could make a lot more playing elsewhere, the Robinsons for example, play for peanuts. But as the talent begins to thin and go elsewhere, they haven't been able to bring in outside recruits, nor have they really tried. For Wandella to be a force again, they need to start opening up the cheque book I believe as it showed this year that their local talent has finally been matched and overtaken.

Jay McDonald one of there best young players walked out mid season prime example. He was made an offer he couldn't refuse and they let him go!!

From what I have heard there is more to the story than that regarding him leaving. But you are right McDonald would be handy in their side, as well as other young blokes such as Tom Brownbrdige and Tyler Miles who both moved onto higher leagues in recent years. Wandella rely on these types of players staying and sadly they eventually move onto bigger and better things.

Both got payed more money to move to higher a league! So you mean moved on to more money!!

Why wouldn't you move onto a higher standard if there was the added bonus of more money?? Usually players go the other way, lower standard for more money.
That may have been the case with Miles when he went to Barham and now Eaglehawk, but that is incorrect about Brownbridge. Tom originally went to Kerang to test him self at the higher standard, he was only getting money for a win, which I believe is $50 at Kerang. Perhaps he may be on a little more now after a few seasons there and being a very handy defender.
This still refers back to kids original point that clubs like Wandella need to spend more money on recruits that fill there needs or look after their younger players to keep then around, other wise they may find themselves out of the top 4 again.

Was told his name was caleb. But yes you are correct!!

Big news at macorna signing Leon opie as non playing coach with metro staying on as a player. After metro playing himself in every key position in every game surely this will bring him back to playing good footy and hard to stop!!
 
Was told he was off to uni and won't be available. No real loss for them anyway if so. It would be good to see him stay at club. He could be a real weapon for them if can tag someone and actually get a kick himself!!
