I think Hodge - Judd will turn into the Deledio - Griffen, Griff looks a very good player.
Do you think the Tiges will regret taking Richard " hamstrings" " it's too cold i wanna go home" Tambling instead of Lance " buddy" " superstar" Franklin, oops my bad, they already do.
See 2 can play that stupid game fwit.

What a tool. You and Jackson_Rules must be pretty good freinds..

Roughy, as JB would say, "is making the backline his own, found a new life down there"....

Franklin has done more than Griffen anyway, its just no one would admit that...

I think Griffin has been better so far, its just obviouse, KPP take longer, common fact.

I think Franklin has been better than the both through the season, But I think Griffins Individual performance on the weekend was best of any draftee i have seen this year, man he was good.

Why not compare 2 players that play roughly the same position ?

For the same reason that he's not comparing Roughead with, say, Jay Shulz.

It s a blatant troll that's absolutely smacking of desperation and angst.

At the end of their careers, Judd > Griffen > Roughead > Hodge.

Passing on Judd is going to haunt them more. Griffen will be better than Roughead, yes, but when you factor in the positional difference, plus the fact that they will have PP's this year to use on a midfielder or two, along with already having Hodge and Mitchell, I don't think they'll regret it all that much.

I don't agree with the way you put it, but I do think Richmond will regret taking Tambling over Franklin, especially since they proceeded to pass on Lynden Dunn and Matthew Bate for Danny Meyer (a good pick, but they already took two midfielders in the draft), both of whom would have been helpful in their need for tall players.

Instead, they got stuck with Adam Pattison, probably the 6th or 7th best KPP available in the first round, when they had plenty of picks to pick up better ones. He might be a good player, but they could've had a big with star potential, and they missed that chance.

This actually wasn't a legitimate poll but rather an pathetic attempt at another Blaise troll to stick it into Hawthorn and their recruiting.
I find it rather pathetic and tiresome.

Passing on Judd isn't exactly hurting many at the club now, but I can see where the rest of the comment is coming from.

Sound recruiting over a number of years is less concerned with individuals and non-concrete debates over player X being better than player Y, as it is with getting numerous strong players, into a range of key positional areas, to ensure a balanced overall team that is good to go for the long haul.

It won't worry Hawthorn in the slightest if Judd, Griffen & Tambling go on to form common perceptions of the top three players in the game if the playing group they do assemble goes on to be a long-term finals force as a consequence of having elite (if not the best) players in numerous positions across the park.

This truism is lost on most rank and file punters who get all hung up on media sensationalism and over-the-top tugfests over flavour of the month individual players.

CyberKev, are you deliberately trying to exclude Blaisie (who incidentally appears to be late getting home from school) from the conversation? There is no excuse for that sort of logic here.

Deledio, Roughead, Griffin will all be very good players.
No need to compare just enjoy them. Roughead is a key position player so he should not be compared to the other two. They will be great players for their club. I am rapt with Griffen as Tigers supporters and Hawks supporters should be rapt with Deledio and Roughead.

hawks got a future CHB CHF and starting midfielder from last years draft. don't think we did too badly really. Roughead has been playing really well down back, and franklin is a big chance for rising star award and has been the best out of the top 5 IMO, although no one will admit that.

Should the title read.. will richmond regret taking tambling instead of franklin, or signing simmonds for 5 years?

do you love me, lol you have some sort of obsession with me

Griffen is a star and will be a gun but did anyone actually watch the game or any of it??? Gary Ablett his immediate opponet for most of the day still had 23 touches and snagged 3 goals, Griffen did well and had what 20 touches but he Ablett did expose his weaknesses.

cheers

Please tell me you are joking?

No one will admit that because people do actually watch games of Football. Lance Franklin has not been the best of the top 5 (what have you been smoking?). I cant beleive that statement. The worst comment I have ever read, pathetic.

Will we regret taking Tambling over Franklin...No. But thanks for your concern, Tambling did more yesterday than Franklin has done in any game, but wasnt mentioned because Deledio is there and doing brilliantly. 18 possessions and 2 goals, not to mention his pace his pressure and desperation.... Played on ball, at Full Forward, he will do it all.

Franklin will be a damn fine player, but not in the class of Griffen and Deledio who will be the Hird and Buckleys from the draft.

This draft will go down as one of the finest and everyone should be happy, please stop with the who shoulda woulda talk, its getting old.

For the person who said we shouldnt of taken Meyer.....stay tuned, you will have your pants well and truly down your ankles. Adam Pattison the 6th or 7th best KPP...oh boy some people....he will turn out to be great. Cant wait for a few ears time when people have egg on their face.

Such utter foolishness...

Franklin has done more than Griffen across the season, and scarcely less than Deledio, despite the reality that KPP types mature several years behind mid-sized midfield types.

He's also drawn tougher assignments and opponents than both Deledio and Griffen who have effectively been eased-in via defensive flanking roles.

There's no more valuable a commodity in the game right now than Johnathan Brown.

In his debut season he played 13 matches, kicking 5 goals, and averaging 9 possessions a game, while all along having a plethora of top notch footballers around him.

In his debut season, Franklin has played 16 matches, kicking 16 goals, averaging 11 possessions a game and entertaining an off-the-ball workrate that not only dwarfs Brown's, but is clearly in excess of the other top five draftees from last season (notwithstanding Roughead's recent efforts since switching to CHB).

Some people really have no idea!

Open your eyes. Franklin is a key position player and doing extremely well in his first year. He'll end up with about 20 - 25 goals for the season which is pretty damn good for someone who hasn't got the physical size to play in his position yet. Midfielders always start off better than Key position players, which is why it is such a good sign that both Roughead and Franklin are looking good already. Playing CHF or CHB on bigger bodies players is much harder than running off the flank, especially half back flank.
