Not sure if a thread has been devoted to this previously as I'm not a regular visitor of this site. But I just wanted some feedback on Grigg. I've always thought he had enormous potential and could develop into a very handy player. Certainly would prefer him to McLean!! But he either doesn't seem to be well liked by Ratten or can't get a good run with injuries. Does he have a future at Carlton? (from memory he was also a fairly high draft pick?)

He has had a pretty bad run with injuries the past 18 months from what I remember.

Can definately be in the top 22 if he works hard though.

Good size and can definately play a role.

keep hearing rumours he's off to the GC.

So do I. Except the only place I've heard them is BigFooty. And the only place the people who posted them heard them from was BigFooty too.

It's really a vicious cycle of rumours. Someone will use your quote as a source for his move to GC now!

The money might be too good, but why would Grigga leave teammates who he is seemingly close mates with?

We need to see more of the up and down potato. :(

Loved his game against the Saints last year.

Grigg would add more to the side than Carrazzo if he can improve his disposal and accountability.

Shaun has some of the tish on the liver attitude that Robinson brings to the side.I'd hate to lose Grigg because I'm a fan of his attitude and hardness, but if anyone has already decided to leave for more money, I wouldn't want that player getting games.

I have the same thinking as you TG, I'm really hating the thought of losing any of the boys to either franchise but if 1 or more have already agreed/signed/considering then they can go jump in Dove Lake. We only want team players, not ones chasing sun and cash

I hope we persist with Grigga who is a year younger than Barlow and Anthony who are rated on BigFooty...

Barlow and Anthony are other link up players with average kicking.

Even though Grigg is more one sided than his fellow southpaw Simpson, he has clean hands and good awareness in close.

Disposal and decision making needs works, but he is a good runner and athlete.

I love Grigg and hope he gets an oppotunity! SOON!

The Rumours get louder with every week he doesn't get a game (when fit).

Certainly would prefer him to McLean!!

Grigg's kicking is not great, his pace is moderate, he's weak in the air, his ability to find the ball is ok without being excellent, he is not a real good inside player and not a real good outside player. The worst part about Grigg is his defencive game. IIRC he was given some defencive jobs last year and failed to do them.

I reckon it's his decison making rather than poor kicking that is his major problem. He seems to just roost it into forwards when he gets clear. More games would dramactically improve this IMO

Struggling to fault this.

Or give him the opportunity to develop his skills as the quarterback for the Bullants before recalling him.

You must be the copy boy in an office somewhere.....You hate everyone

Can just imagine it.... "look at that fat bi$#h hogging the coffee machine"..... "Did you see what Eric in accounts is wearing today"...."How come I don't get a parking spot".....

FMD....talk about a glass half empty view of the world.

Sheesh.......

Grigg has been in the system for 3 to four years, problem is he is always injured and cant get on the park. He should be doing a lot better than he is, should be given every opportunity to see what he is made of . If not then i can see us moving him on, or the rumours of GC. I know that he is great mates with Gibbsy also.

I can remember his job on Heath Shaw the first time we played Collingwood either last year or the year before and he did a fantastic defensive job on him.

I like Grigg, but it would'nt surprise me if he did go elsewhere, be it the GC, GWS or another AFL club. With the mid field we have at the moment his game time is very limited. I very much doubt he would leave for money as I dont think he would be getting a big offer, it would be for more game time in the seniors.

Was about the time when Heath was struggling for form and was too busy playing dodgem cars rather than bothering about football.

Primarily he is going to try and get more opportunity, you are right on that. However (from what I've heard) he's going to be getting a lot of other benefits to entice him to go. from memory it involved housing benefits and something about accommodating his partner? Didn't hear the full story.

Will that be included in the salary cap?
