GEELONG has not ruled out putting Todd Grima back on its rookie list at today's AFL rookie draft.

Grima, a versatile tall, was the Cats' leading goalkicker in the VFL team this year and was part of the VFL premiership-winning side before being delisted.

Geelong national recruiting manager Stephen Wells said the club would keep its options open, but Grima would be considered for another rookie contract after two years with the club.

``He'll be considered along with everyone else,'' Wells said.

``We're looking for a mix of players. We basically have the last pick in each round so we'll be crossing off a lot of players before getting to decide who we will take.''

Yeah, it's all a bit harsh on poor Toddy. You'd hate to be in his position today. Deserves a spot on somebodies list.

If he doesn't, he would most certainly be receiving one from the Devils VFL.

Goes to show...its fair to say a number of us including me rated Grima...and not even 1 club willing to rookie him. Tough times indeed.

Looks like Reg Hickey was right all along...and he could be headed for our vfl list. I hope so anyway. I would like to see how he goes in the next couple of seasons in the twos to see if he can make the improvements needed to make the big time.

Straight to the devils, and from the devils nobody goes anywhere. Tassie footy = dead end road.

Couldnt have done much more this season.

Gave it his best and can be happy with that

Jesus christ. I must be missing something.
Because for a 20 year old to top score in the VFL is a massive achievement and if most other clubs had a guy like that on their list, they would be calling him the new god.

What on earth has he done wrong?

Someone on this board posted something one time about attitude queries? Maybe other clubs have also picked up on this.

VFL is a totally different level of game...that hack nick sautner was the leading goalkicker in the VFL for a couple of years.

Toddy was never going to make it at AFL level IMHO. Will always be a VFL type player.
