Well, here on the north east coast of Australia there was no broadcast of the game on tv, radio, or even the AFL website. Scores only appeared at half time on the website....thanks AFL for providing loyal supporters of the code with the very best access.
Cynicism aside, the game was a beauty in terms of the eagles never giving up at any point. Second week in row for an unlikely, come from behind victory. All credit to the players who now clearly believe in themselves. Lynch obviously played well on debut, and I am pleased to see that Hunter played an important role at a critical phase of the game.
When you look at who is to come back, then we can only get better.
This team is starting to show all the right stuff.
I will be in Perth for the game against the crows, and taking my bride of one day to the footy. She is german and has absolutely no knoweledge of the game

Be very careful, mate, with a pedigree like that she'd be a perfect Adelaide supporter.

No, I'm not worried VOR. She is very astute. I'm hoping for a good game that is a good spectacle to watch. My partner is not a sports watching person, and when I suggested we go to the game she actually surprised by asking whether it was safe. Seems in Europe many people feel insecure going to a soccer game because crowd violence is both real and commonplace and something families tend to avoid?
I've told her that here in Oz, footy is very much a family spectator sport, and that apart from a few idiots, footy crowds are generally good natured, often funny and friendly, regardless of who they support. That's been my own experience to date going to matches in Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane over the years. Of course I have never been to a South Australian match, but assume they are not that different.

Not the first time ive heard such comments, a friend of mine took one of their friends to a footy game, and they liked the fact they were safe. They were from Scotland so I guess all the soccer violence isnt stamped out completely, just toned down. Also a friend of mine from Yugoslavia told me there were never any women or children at any sporting matches over there, regardless of the sport. Mind you he was from Belgrade and we all know how Red Star used to actually pay for their hooligans to travel.

When I was travelling in Croatia and Yugoslavia two years ago there was a soccer match on between Croatia and Yugolsavia...I said to my cousin.." We should go to that..have u been to many croatia vs Yugoslavia games?" He just looked at me and started laughing really hard. I asked him what was so funny and he said " You only go to that match if u have a death wish!" He then told me a story of another cousin of ours who was shot at one of these games!!!!! After hearing that I somehow lost the desire to see the match!
