I started this topic on DL after the derby as I believe he was one of the few who gave 100%. Is fast becoming one of my favourite dockers.

Has been in very good form lately, although I must admit I wasn't a huge fan a month or two ago, I wasnt too sure about him but I'm glad to see him prove me wrong. :)

He's a player who was very good in 03, lost his way last season but has been great this season, particularly the last month. Gone from being a fringe player to a certainty each week and brings some much needed muscle and aggression to our backline.

Agreed, he was one of the major offenders when it came to piking it in hard ball contests last year and he's completely turned his game around. Take note Polak (who has infinitely more ability).

Easily one of the most underrated players in the league

To be underrated you have to at least be known by the wider football supporting public. Mention the name Grover to most non Dockers fans and the associated image is "annoying muppet"

That said, he's something of a quiet achiever - one of the few to stand up in the derby.

Hope all you Grover critics who not so long ago not only didn't have him in the best 22 but were willing to gas him have the balls to come on here and own up!

Errr.

He used to to deserve his critics and he definately has not always been in our best 22.

It's a credit to him that he has turned it around and become such a key player for us.

Last year or perhaps the year before I was calling for him to be traded.
I also at one stage was suggesting thornton would never make it.....

In these cases I love being wrong :)

By not long ago I meant earlier this season so I guess that absolves you sabre but courageous of you to own up anyway.

Not me - I've liked his game all along - esp this year. I commented in our votes threads about mid-season that I was surprised he hadn't been getting a few more votes as he was playing well and was one of the more consistent players. Since then he has taken it up a notch or two and is being noticed / recognised more. Have always liked Antoni I am happy to say. :)

The only one I'd like to see tha back of that has played the last few weeks is Schofield. Waste of time and salary cap space.

Couldn't agree more, another one of those idiotic decisions by one or more numbskulls that reflect badly on the Clubs image not to mention the balance sheet.

I'd like to see the back of a few more of them; hopefully because Bell, Haddril, Hayden and Headland are back in the team. Add those four into the team and we'd be a chance against all comers. Mind you, all teams can do the same thing at this time of year. Can't think of who would go though. Even Scofield, who would be top of my list, had some good moments on the w/end.

The media get their info from here I'm sure of it. This forum has had Grover in our bogs for the last 3 weeks. This week I notice the media are giving him the attention he deserves.

We were on his bandwagon 3 weeks ago.

Good work Antoni. I became fan of yours a few years ago when you laid that pefect bump in front of the members, got reported and the charge was then dropped.

For your information Yak the club did not hold him much hope for him as well as some of his critics. The club had him on the list for trade but nobody was interested in taking him.
I for one who goes to all home games was not impressed when he was chosen early in the season as I could see no future for him.But to his credit he has proved myself and no doubt many others wrong.I have also stated this in previous posts on here.I think he has realised he was on his last chance and has done something about it.Good luck to him.
I think like so many who make it early and get the pats on the back before they are warranted the head swells a bit and they think they have made it in the big time.I think another case is Ryan Crowley. He was picked up by the Dockers and thought it was going to be a doddle to make the team. But again like Grover has got his act together and is now reaping the rewards.
The true test for them and several others who have MADE it this year
will come next season.Good football over a long period of time makes good or champion footballers.
