If he plays this weekend, and starts in defence.

Should we still 'kick it long and more often' to him ?

I am worried how this might end up, and with Leo not playing, we would only have LRT to blame ? especially as Bevan keeps playing forward.

It is all very confusing ?

I dont care where he starts really, it seems to me he has finally got the understanding he needs to be a versatile to be a league footballer.
I thought he did really well last week, has a beautiful kick and can mark well and seems more confident.
To answer your question, yes kick it long either to him if need be, but get the ball in his hands more often, dont know if you saw the 50 odd meter pass he made to set up Micky O i think, is exactly what we need to see more of.

ah still confused suprise suprise

heath plays down back in place of leo but against adelaide who have few tall forwards he could be used up forward.exept for tippett who gets lrt and jericho who is medium size might get grundy or ted adelaide uses its midfield for scoring eg goodwin out of ff he must get craig bolton, about kicking long did you see mcveigh one hander and rok contested mark against scotland and goodsey mark against gibbs all from longer kicks as i've said need to kick longer more often not all the time also did you see jude out of the middle booting it long to the forward line they must of read my thread, sorry mate perhaps i'm boring you again but yet u keep on bringing it up

I'd be more concerned if Grundy were to miss out this week and watch the game from the stands, then we could be in big trouble with this plan.

The 'kick it long to Grundy" in the backline plan will hold up as long as he has his kicking boots on when it comes to set shots. It's a fair distance to cover but I'm sure he's more than capable.

I reckon Grundy might indeed be asked to play back!

They could man up or rotate very tall in their forward line

FFS (I luv Roosey) but eventually leave him in a spot please give him a go!

He is a FF PERIOD .... move over Micky!!
