Not a lot of info out there on the subject mate. Before the delay in the games release statement last year, R* said the packs would be released "in spring 2008", and thats as specific as they got. Whether that's been delayed as the main game has...who knows?

I wouldn't expect them to be released immediately or anything, as they'll probably want to stagger the period over which they can milk the franchise for cash. Mass effect hasn't seen its promised episodic DLC yet, and it was released in November last year, so i'd be expecting it'll be at least late 2008 before we see the GTA4 packs for 360.

As for the same episodic content being released on ps3...well frankly i haven't been able to find anything (except vague rumours) that would indicate it'll be released on ps3 at all, let alone when. PS3 owners have had it confirmed they will get some dlc, but only in the form of extra cars etc.

Rockstar have a habit of playing their cards very close to their chest, no one really knows for sure. But $50 million is a lot of cash to pay for what is not even exclusive rights to an entire game, Microsoft are going to want some sort of bang for their buck.

Agree whole heartedly that Microsoft will want bang for their buck...with that in mind I will not be holding my breath for it on the PS3, looks like the decision has been made for me, will get it on 360.
 
As i speak, bioware just announced their first lot of DLC for mass effect. Available in march.

That took 4 months, which given Halo3's first DLC was released after about the same time frame, probably reasonable to expect the 360 GTA4 DLC around august/sept?

Just a guess.

On gtagaming.com, there is always updates about the game. This piece of information interested me...

"GTA IV will contain a deep multiplayer mode, including deathmatch, team play ("Cops 'n Crooks"), and some sort of ranked cooperative missions. Our source specifically talks about modes called "Deal Breaker," "Bomb da Base," and something called "Hangman's Noose," but gives no further details. The game will also feature ranked multiplayer races, likely across the game's open roads of Liberty City."

Cops 'n Crooks sounds very cool. 79 days to go, lol.
 
Some of the songs that are on the radio stations have leaked.

Hollaback Girl is on there as well as a ne-yo song.... about 10 songs all up so far, pretty much all of them are rnb.... :(

hopefully there is 2 or 3 metal stations.

Apparently 18 stations all up and a Queen song on there too.

The rnb leaked songs means nothing, as they will be on the rnb station.

Two or three metal stations? Why would there be more than one as every other GTA has basically had one station per genre.

All I know is that Airbourne are on one of the stations, so I am stoked.

I would think there will be about 100 or more songs, so 10 rnb ones ain't bad.

Why would we want 2 or 3 metal stations, not everyone likes your headbangers ball music, just some good songs will do.

There are also going to be the obligatory talkback radio stations too.

The one that interests me the most is "Jump to cover".

The more I read information on gtagaming.com, the more I get excited. Should hopefully be GOTY.

Would rather GOTY go to something new.

I'm burnt out on GTA to be honest.
 
If it deserves GOTY then why not?

I haven't played a GTA game since beating San Andreas a few years back, so i'm looking forward to GTAIV immensly.
 
IMO, exploring a massive in game world, kicking heads and stealing cars at will, never gets old. Replay value of the GTA series is very good.

Hopefully with the current generation consoles, Rockstar take GTA to a new level.
 
I hope that there is some diversity in the city. I know that they were huge and kind of repetitive but I liked the deserts and forests in San Andreas. They gave the world a bit of character. Miles and miles of nothing but high risers would be quite boring if that's all that GTA IV served up.

From what I have read the world will be much more interactive & the physics are more realistic, which will have more of a cause & effect type thing.

Also the AI of people on the streets is much more random.

I didn't see anyone else post anything about them being fake. The controls were presented as fact, so I thought I'd point out they weren't. Much like I do with a lot of other posts on this board.

funny that they only point out how many flaws 360 may hav. dont hear much about whats wrong with ps3, but i guess its perfect isnt it karl:cool:
 
I still haven't put my pre order down yet!:o

Will have to go in very soon otherwise they might not be accepting them anymore.

I am personally not sure what to go with though, The Special Edition or Normal?

my store is out of special editions

and going by numbers so far, my shop will crank about 300 pre orders total, will be a massive launch day.

Much bigger than gaylo 3
 
Not having a go at anyone but what's the point of pre-ordering a game? There's going to be seven zillion copies on April 29, so it's not like they're going to be in short supply.
It's the same thing with lining up at midnight to buy a game. Just get it in the morning... then again maybe it's just me.

Sure, for any other game yes.

But this is THE MOST HIGHLY ANTICIPATED GAME OF ALL TIME, bar none!

Preorders are being stopped by many stores because of the sheer number they are getting.

Also a good benefit of preordering is that first off you get a game straight out of the box, still in it's nice and fresh packaging, sometime they give you the shelf box with the game in it.

Also if you are really lucky you can get the game 1 day before anyone else.

Also some stores like EB have specials for pre ordering a game, just go on their site to see that.
