Still I don't see De Boer getting too many games. Barlow would of made a better case. Hell I wish we gave Barlow another year.

Hell Clancee pearce would of been a better pick up than De Boer just for his 2012 season alone when he was constantly getting 20-25 disposals a game and scored 10-15 goals that season. Plus he would of fitted with the rest of the Tattooed bogans with that spider man tatt.

Just watched Will Brodie's highlights for Vic Country and the the thing that stuck out to me was the exquisite soft hands of Darcy putting it down his throat multiple times. You need a ruck and you got the best traditional ruck in the draft at a reasonable pick.

Haven't read anything about Venables because he wasn't I likely pick for us.

First thing I read was Gee Dubs Phantom.

"48. Daniel Venables- I don’t see it with him. He has a fair bit of power and can burst through traffic but that is about it. His kicking looks good mechanically but doesn’t always hit the target and he just doesn’t seem to be able to find enough of the footy to make a big impact. He is tough and hits the ball hard though, but I’m not sure he makes it since he can’t seem to find the footy enough at junior level so I can’t see him suddenly turning into a big time accumulator at a higher level."

Like you I knew nothing of him as he hadn't really been mentioned in discussions for our pick so I was a bit wtf to start with

That analysis looks at odds to others I've now read. Moves like shuey (which will be laughed at here) and has pace which we lack. After the initial shock of a bit of an unknown he seems to be getting pretty well received

Time will tell as with all draftees

You have to feel for SPS. Off to Carlton, with Liam Jones the only other indigenous player on their list and they are also not exactly known for their player welfare. Meanwhile his cousin and the guy he probably wanted to spend time in Melbourne with (Cedric) is off up to Brisbane, a club that struggles to retain players and just lost it's welfare person to a year long ban.

A little ruthless just after the ND is complete but possibly bodes well for our future trading I'm actually a little surprised both of these clubs took the risk.
