No, this isn't another troll. Just thought I'd say thanks for a very tough, entertaining game of footy, and I'm sorry you had to lose under those circumstances. After we lost in similar circumstances to collingwood earlier this season, it sure is crap to be on the receiving end of it.
Naturally, I'm glad the mighty eagles came away with it in the end, but 1pt losses are always a bitch when they happen to your team. All the best for the rest of the season!

Thanks for showing your support mate! You are surely one of the best sportsman on this board. I'm glad that at least some supporters don't gloat about this one, in fact, it makes me feel better.

Oh well... off to drinking I go to ease my fustrations!

Oh, rest assured, I'll be gloating :D :D, I just consider it bad form to direct that gloating at the other teams' supporters- after two crappy years under Ken Judge, I know how it feels. Now if you'll excuse, I'm off to get drunk myself, albeit for slightly different reasons!

I feel confident that we have uncovered some youngsters that will form part of a winning backline for years to come. Right now though, I am just numb.

just get on with it i find beer/bourbon helps get you through a hard season you know they won't be down for long and theres plenty of clubs that would trade anything for a piece of our history/premierships:D :D :D

I too feel for you Blues people as i also know how it is to lose by narrow margins like you did. I had the pain of losing by less that one goal near to and after the siren. Think rounds 4 and 9 against the Swans and Melbourne :P.

I read in another thread that most if not all of you want to hang Darren Goldspink for giving that decision, and having seen that match and the subsequent news reports i don't blame you. I too know how you feel as i myself want to shoot that c*nt who gave that freekick to Creswell in round 4. Whether it was there or not is one thing, i still wanna shoot him.

Oh and you might wanna get Fevola to get some kicking practise cause we are gonna get Leigh Harding to get some practise too as once again i know how u feel!

Yeah bad luck Blues supporters...but the throw was there, im sure you will agree, it doesnt matter if its 5 minutes in or 1 minute from the end...if its there, its there and it has to be paid.

On the bright side that young backline of yours looks really promising...Wiggins, Doering and a couple of other youngsters, there names escape me but i was impressed. When i saw the lineups at the start of the game i thought "Great! Young inexperienced backline, should be easy to expolit" but boy was i wrong they stood up all day and should form into a solid back 6 in the next few years.

It is a cruel game.

To be in front and you start to relax a bit, but only to lose by a point by a very bad umpiring call..........cruel.

I will make a prediction......you will not take the wooden spoon.

I have always been a strong advocate of 'throwing them in the deep end' and the run of injuries and poor form has forced the match committee to do just that. Whilst we have lost the last two game by the smallest margin, we mustn't forget that the players who have most to gain from it are these youngs guys. They are going to form the nucleus of a very good side for the long term future. Livingston, Wiggins, Thornton, Sporn, Campbell & Davies are all very good players who are showing they have what it takes to cut it in the big time. Yes ODN, we have unearthed some very good players and we will bounce back with them at the helm.

Yeah bad luck blues fans. 1 point losses make me feel sick so I cant even start to understand how u guys feel after 2 thrillers!!
Stick with your boys though...those youngsters are going to bring alot of happiness to you all within a couple of years.
Dont forget that you played very well and ur boys put in a good performance none the less....just a bit on inexperience cost them a win in the end.
Goodluck for the rest of 2002 and beyond!

Ive been following the BLUES for 33 years now fish, longer than ive been following NORTH ADELAIDE... i was there in 79,81,82 when we nailed 3 flags in 4 years........but this is hard to take..........ignore the pain and it'll go away........man wotta we gotta do to win a fargin game, i might just get really drunk and wake up to round 1 ,2003.

Barb sure looked upset on the Sunday Footy Show when they had vision after the game. I thought it was a good contest, 2 teams slogging their guts out to get the 4 points. It will be really interesting to see if Carlton goes for the youth policy for the rest of the season or when Kouta comes back, play as much experience as possible to move up the ladder (which I do think can be done)

They have already indicated they will stick with the youth policy. Trent Sporn is still to come back into the side as is Kouta and maybe Hulme for the last couple of games. Wiggins, Doering, Davies, Campbell, Livingston and Thornton will continue to play along with Sporn if he gets back. Pickering, Smith and Gallagher will all be in the mix as well.
