Could not agree more and CC has got to be the first to go. After 3.5 years at the top, we are still a mediocre and inconsistent team that is going nowhere.

But it will never happen and CC will still be there, taking us on that journey to nowhere.

Hardie given up on the get TLo into the team. That is when the all the crap about Connoly started about round7 last year. lol

Going on the fact that he can't gat a game at Carlton, you would have to ask who had the better judgement.

CC 1 Hardie 0.

You're too narrow-minded Ripper. You're not looking at the big picture. CC isn't taken us anywhere.

You can't seriously believe that he will lead us to a flag?

When CC joined Freo he was regarded as a great assistant coach and that is what he is.He maybe has a million ideas,of which a quality senior coach could use one or two, having all your best ball winners out of the centre on the weekend, when the game was up for grabs was not a good one.

Short term view. The major ball winners are the ones that have let us down more often than not. It worked for a half where Schammer , Smith , Cook and Gilmore (at times) actually won more than their share of clearances.

It was in fact in the third quarter at the around the grounds stoppages with our "guns" around the ball when we got flogged.

The current situation is two fold. Firstly it is much easier to get rid of a coach than players lets face it takes at leat 5 yrs to rebuild alist.

Connolly & scwabb have built the current list which is better than the early days but not top 4 by along way contary to what most of the faithful think.
This list is lacking the "x factor" to go all the way.

Connolly has let the suporters down but a lot of his players have let him down. However, do you think Connolly & Shwabb will go if the Dockers don't make the finals? The spin dockers are already preparing the media realeases -finding excuses and planning the media bliz on how the dockers are going to with their "great" list will finally deliver the goods in 2006.

It's worth too much money to fall on swords by alot at FFC. The gravey train is too good ar ide at the moment.

Only if there is a huge suporter backlash at WAFC will anything happen' If the WAFC bean counters feel that FFC Dividends to WAFC are threatened then they'll act. ie members threatening not to renew.

Question: Does the board really know what is going on?

Ripper - Tlo is old history and does help us with where we are today.

Three and half years down the road, lots of talk and we are only going downhill. After all the poor years, we have to accept nothing less but a top four finish and a tilt at a GF.

CC has been given his "go" and has not delivered and is not capable of delivering.

I'll ask you all a question, Does who you draft impact on the present?
When
1 year
3 years
5 years
7 years

You can't seriously compare that to the effect of a coach after so many years. Completely unrelated.

Ripper, are you happy with the way the tean is going? The fact is we are looking at another below par season,a difficult run home and a coach that has had 3.5 years with one finals appearance, where we were beaten in the same manner teams still beat us,we have 2 tough games coming up against 2 very accountable teams ,we will see how we aer sitting after that, not forgetting the WCE had a new coach at the same time as us with a poorer list.
I dont think it is another"journey or plan" we are not like Hawthorn or Collingwood who are in there rebuilding years,we just need an off field team to take the on field team to the next level. Our teams time is now,and i believe it will change quickly with the right men in charge.I want CC to do well,I like the man,but above anything i want the Football club that i spend my hard earned $ on to give me more.

I remember CC's catch cry with his "8" year plan. In 3 years he planned to improve every year and have us in the final 8 with the view of staying there. OK we made the finals in the 2nd year but the 3 year we faded and we are heading the same way this year. I doubt we have improved as a side since CC's 2nd year.

I think you will find that we are still re-building and will be for some time.

Why are you still rebuilding? Your time to win should be now. The old guard like Bell, Parker, Cook etc won't be around much longer. If you say its because you don't have a key forward, then why did Connolly trade away Croad and Brown, especially after giving up so much to get them to the club in the first place?

I think it's still 2 early to demand CC to go...look at our fixtures & the players retunring...there is a fair chance we can still go near to the 8. If thats not good enough, so be it, & replace him at seasons end.

Rnd 13 V Roos at Subi - Should win
Rnd 14 v Adel at Aami after bye - mcpharlin, Haddrill,Walker, Carr back, won there last year - May win
Rnd 15 v Dogs at Subi - Should win
Rnd 16 v Carl at Mcg - Should win
Rnd 17 v Melb at Subi - May win
Rnd 18 v Coll at Mcg - may win

These next 7 games are HUGE in the context of Freo's seasons & CC's tenancy. Win 5-6 of these games & all will be forgotten, perhaps. If not, it's time leave the house....CC.

Then theres the problem of what coach is available? All 15 clubs have coaches who are signed up...it would be a matter of poaching one, highly unlikely or going to another untried assistant coach, Sumich?, O'Donnell?, Bond? Royal? - hopefully not...or pulling an oldie out of the back, Blight?, Ayres? Frawley? Judge? - also highly unlikely. There are no high quality coaches available in the market.

All will be revealed in the next 2 months...

As was Westcoasts in 2003 when they were 2nd after 15 rounds (Afterplaying every team once). Don't agree ? A couple of injuries found them out for lack of depth as we are at the moment although the situation is much much better than previous seasons.

True , but they will be replaced by a more seasoned group of Haze , Longmuir , Pav , Carr's . Haddrills etc.

Brown was there before Connoly arrived. Croadie wanted to go home and I cannot say that I blame him after being constantly scutinised on 6PR every night.

We have perfectly good key forward who is recovering from a hamstring and his replacement is still learning his craft.
He has just turned 20. been on a senior list 18 months and has played only 10 games less than Ash Hansen who he give away 2 years in age and 2 years on an AFL list.

We also have a perfectly good Full Back with a bung ankle who's replacement is still learning his craft also and learning very quickly I might add.

That would indicate to me that we are still building a squad with depth for the future.

When CC was appointed one of his statements regarding the future of the club and players on the list was he couldn't see more more than 1 or 2 players on the list (2001) who would still be in the team in 5 years to play in a grand final.

If someone knows the whole transcript of his statement I would stand corrected.

As we approach 2006 I see the statement taking shape.

While our list is gets the 'you should be here or you should be there' treatment the fact the list is taking shape for a big run next year.

I think schofield was a pick to satisfy the need to make the eight again, not necessarily to for him to be a Fremantle grand final player. His injury and lack of match hardness and team chemistry was not an hiccup it was a punch in the guts. And so our season started..... (not to mention that hammil free)

Sure CC his staff, advisors, coaching staff and the players have succeeded in turning the first part of the season into the Lockerbie disaster part 2. But I do believe his objective is still tracking on line.

How many posters keep calling for Mundy, Murphy, Smith, Dunne, Gilmore, Smith etc to get more game time. Why ? Because we have talent in the wings not quite ready in 05 but should hit it bigtime in 06.

The biggest shame if we do not make the eight this year will be the learning curve that goes with the process of getting the extra game or two under the belt.

I believe we are 1 less win than were we should be. To get good fixture options for 06 we should be around 9th or 10th at the completion of round 15. But in position to make a run at the eight with our last 7 games.

No other litmus test will be needeed than the game against the roos this week. Not wether we win or lose but the mechanics of his coaching ability with the team on the ground.

My opinion of CC will depend how he handles the team from round 15 to 22. If he continues to show poor gameday coaching skills then I will probably get off the CC bus.

I take from discussions so far we are going to have a large list of nominations for the director election this year.

I suspect that CC getting a extension was the result of Dunstalls approaches to CC late last year. There was probably little choice either to let him go or extend his contract. Schwabby was probably caught between a rock and a hard place. Potential replacement coaches were probably all re-signed for 2005 and settled and we would have basically had to write 2005 off.
