I may be an Essendon supporter but my entire household are Richmond supporters therefore naturally, i have a spot for them aswel. I dont like seeing them continually lose and go through the motions as they currently are now. They were meant to make the finals this year, and yet dissapointed us again. I think that there is only one option. HARDWICK

I remember when Sheedy left EFC, and we began looking for a coach, hardwick layed down that the list was shite and needed complete rebuilding. He would clear out all the players hovering and keep the ones that would take the club forward.

I think this is EXACLY WHAT RICHMOND NEEDS a hard coach who will put the players in line IE. deledio, hughes. The Decisions that need to be made at seasons end will be the stepping stone and set the scene for the club in the next few years. I can only hope that the club chooses Hardwick because i can tell you right now if Sheedy is selected, you will be in mediocrity for a while yet.

So what actually has he done from a coaching perspective that makes so many people want him coaching us next year.

He won 2 flags as a player and I THINK 2 as an asistant coach.
he hold no prisoners on the field and had an extremely strong winning mentality

doubtful that hardwick has the right attributes for a main coaching job. if he was as good as what people have been claiming he would have gotten a job by now. the blues, demons, bomber and GC17 jobs have passed by hardwick, so i cant see richmond taking that risk, maybe its his personality.

Hardwick only does EVERYTHING down at Hawthorn for the past 4 or how many years hes been involved. Held at the highest regard at Hawthorn, enough for them to offer him an improved contract salary to keep clubs from snearing him as coach. He'll defintely be going however and is the number1 man for the job, whether Richmond are smart enough to realise this is the question.

all i want in a coach is someone who will make the lads put there head over the ball, besides skills i think we need hardness more than anything. i think hardwick wouldnt stand for anything less than somebody bleeding for the jumper

We have hardness - Foley, Jackson, Tuck, Coughlan, Thomson, King, Hislop. We are very high up in contested ball and other similar stats. There's just no skill there, at all....

Want to know another stat we're very high up on? Turnovers.

Because he is not great with laptops. :)

And to assume you could just take the property of Hawthorns into a meeting of rival Essendon showed a massive oversight on his behalf. Was not professional, if anything very amateurish, and no doubt one of the ticks he received in the negative column.

He is my numer 1 choice. Is what we need, he won't take shit from anyone. He has done his time as an assiant now its time to step up.

P.S. I like your sig legend;)

im Greek! AND MASO'S ARE GREEK!! thats all there is too it

when wallace came here he was very negative about the players, club and everything and this set the tone for his tenure. hardwick would be the same. richmond need a coach that sends a positive vibe and sets more demanding goals so that the player would need to lift, rather than do nothing for years before they need to start pulling their finger out.

:)HARDWICK takes a senior role, guarantee Nathan Buckley is the #1 assistant at Hawthorn next year.

KEN HINKLEY takes a senior role, guarantee Nathan Buckley is the #1 assistant at Geelong next year.

:thumbsu:

Hardwick is exactly the guy we need IMO.

There is obviously something wrong with him if he is constantly passed over (for Ratten, no less). Put him through the process and if he displays whatever it was kept him back last time, give him the boot.

The fact that Hardwick is a premiership player means nothing as far as his coaching credentials are concerned. Aaron Keating available?

Yup, no other coach assigned by Richmond is gonna do this, and for that reason we should get Hardwick. You have presented a compelling argument, and I hope RFC read your post to save themselves from making a big boo boo.

Don't tell us what WE need!
Your argument is a pile of BS solely on the basis that YOUR team didn't pick him up!
So what is not good enough for Essendon, is good for Richmond. FFS.

Thats not what i meant mate. i think that our list was slighly better than what yours is atm and i would be looking at a complete rebuild. Although you may disagree with me, hardwick is the right option

yeh i second that

Yeah right.."some of my best friends are wogs"...except when they're "fresh off the boat" Carlton supporters eh dribbles? What a load of crap. Liar and a hypocrite.:thumbsd:

If Hardwick gets the job at the end of the selection process then so be it.

Just because he played in premierships and was a good player doesn't mean he will be a good coach. Eg Ayers, Watson, Shaw...........etc.......
