Dimma was all set to stay in Adelaide and finish his commerce degree and do some stuff with Port after he won the flag but Clarko pounced.

Joins Barassi, Matthews and one other to win a flag at 3 clubs as a player and a coach. I reckon if you added in assistant coach flags he would be the first to do it at 4 clubs.

The club backed Dimma in and got the right people around him.

We need to do the same for Hinkley, poach some assistants and freshen up the box.

Especially feel good for him after all the crap he somewhat deservedly got over the past 4-5 years having not won a final in his time at the club. In the end, they backed him in and he delivered the highest prize. Hopefully we can use that success story as the staple for our next few years.

Onya Dimma!!

He has helped take the Tiges from basketcase side when he took over at the end of 2009 to premiers in 8 years. We will see if Hinkley can match him.

Well done to Dimma... I wish though when he was up there, he got the crowd going with some Yellow and Black (with out the music)... love the sound of it!

Richmond offered him head coach position and we offered him a 2 year successor role behind Choco the same year. That's what I was told by a former club official and Lawyer. Later that year Choco was sacked.

Yeah we offered him a 2 year succession plan deal like Roos has done with both Longmire and then Goodwin. So both Port and Sydney after 2009 season, after both missed finals, saw the need for succession planning. One club got their man, one didn't.
