Geelong appears certain to err on the side of caution and rule concussed Cat Harry Taylor out of Friday night's blockbuster against Collingwood.
Taylor was subbed off after being crunched in a massive pack during the second quarter of the Cats' shock 13-point loss against Sydney on Saturday.
He will undergo the standard concussion tests and cognitive examinations this week, but it appears the Cats will not risk his health for a game of minimal significance.
"It's more than likely (Taylor won't play), given there's no outcome on the game in that it's not important to whether we make (the finals)," Geelong football manager Neil Balme said yesterday.
"If it was a first final, then we would treat it totally different, so we expect he won't play but we've still got to make a decision based on the evidence we get..."
