Has Sidebottom become elite?

That said, Sidebottom has been our most improved player this season and has definitely stepped up his game.

The positional move into midfield, the clearances plus additional posessions he is earning as a result and his ability to win contested ball/hold his feet is really impressive.

Sidey is playing at an elite level at the moment. I can't see how you can question that.

Obviously he needs to sustain that for a long period to be considered an elite player.

Agreed, Elite level but isn't yet elite as he needs to consistently put it out there, Pendles style. But I would currently have his baby's.

Apart from pendles, been clearly our most consistent player. He is pure silk plus a very smart footballer and will get better. Hav to sign him now as far as im concerned.

He has definitely gone up more than one notch this season. So has Beams though, and he had a dreadful pre-season. Amazingly it doesn't seem to have affected him. These 2 are our midfield future, and are driving each other along.

You people need to relax. He WILL be classified as elite, just be patient. It takes more than a build up, and a handful of BOGs to become an elite midfielder in the AFL. The answer is no, but he will definitely be viewed as elite by the end of the season if the last two weeks are anything to go by.

What actually defines elite?

To me elite means someone who is just close to perfect at their strengths and has very few weaknesses. Our current elite players are cloke, swan and pendles. Sidey has joined them imo.

Might be a sneaky chance for the Brownlow. I read in the HS today and some guy put a fair chunk of money on Steele. It might make him a bit of money.

maybe if we sold pendles and drop thomas off the list, then there wouldnt be so many stars in the midfield and people would classify him as elite. We need to get rid of beams too.

we have to keep him first.

we have two highly important and likely high earners to sign, and now the new mids are starting to show their worth, and theyre all up for renewal (i think).
