Shock horror, but as TT mentioned in an earlier thread credit where credit is due. Sorry Oxx and co for rewarding medicority, but this is warranted.

The bloke has been one of our scapegoats throughout a very ordinary decade for the RFC. Both warranted at times and unwarranted at others. No doubt he has been dropped at times when he clearly shouldn't have. Despite all this, he continues to work his arse off for the club and sets an example down at Coburg like no other senior player has. alot of blokes would drop their bundle and not give a toss given he would know as well as anyone this is his last year.

good in him for standing up and being a good leader for all the developing blokes at Coburg. some might disagree but thought this warrants a thread. This is a positive for the present culture at the club.

yep hats off to tivva. keep up the good work dude...Coburg needs you.

Like get real, what would you do if you were on your last legs at AFL level and could see your contract going up in smoke? FFS, hats off? how ____ing ridiculous...;)

Tivendale and Hyde should be banned from playing senior football ever again. They've had their chance and done very little. A new wave of excitement is sweeping through punt road.

I agree with your comments rooster. He has been a whipping boy over the years. Sometimes with cause, but a lot of times unfairly. I reckon he should come back in the side in place of Captain Weakheart. Another memorable game by the skipper on the weekend. We could do worse than have Tiva replace him.

LMAO.....this forum is becoming ridiculous FFS.

We drop Tivva, Bowden and Pettifer and we instantly get a complete turn around in our performances, and now there are nuff nuffs here suggesting that after 4 weeks of light, we return to the same dark we have endured for the last 4 years with the same trio....it ____ing defies total logic the way some people think...;)

i'm not fussed if tivva is in the side. He'd be just as effective as tambo on the wing. Whether it's Petts/Morton at half forward, bowden/lids at full forward, tivva/tambo on the wing, you know you'll get a good performance because as soon as one has a quiet game they'll be replaced. Petts and Bowden will now always be thinking about going in a bit harder every time they are in a contest. This stint at Coburg will get them into the habit of naturally going in a bit harder because they know they'll be back at Coburg if they don't. :thumbsu:

i agree, he could have pulled up stumps and called it a day instead he has helped raise the bar for any p_issant that has claims on a senior berth. Deserves credit for that:thumbsu:

No better kick at goal from 50-60 out on the run, and (unfortunately) against the better sides that is where we're kicking most of our goals from (can't get our hands on it inside the 50!).

Are we talking about the same Greg Tivendale:confused:

Maybe I just paid more attention to him, is / was fav player (hence Tivers login etc). Well known for my Tiversssssssssss............... cry as he slotted another from 55.

Biased maybe, but that's my recolection.
Interestingly I'd regard there as no better from standing 50 in the side than Pettifer (another much maligned).
Just like the oldies perhaps ! :D

As I said in the other thread, he has earnspect with the way he has handled himself.

With him getting 35 possies and 5 goals at Coburg it makes everyone else around him realise just how hard you have to work to play AFL. For example, it's hard for Connors, Hughes or anyone to get too ahead of themselves when kicked a couple of goals or get a few possies one week, they see Tiv playing better than them and want to beat him for selection.

Darren Gaspar chose to retire than to spend time at Coburg, Tivendale has done the opposite.

Although it must be mentioned that Thursfield has repeatedly given Gas praise for the amount he has learnt off him, even after he retired, so let's not be too harsh on him either.

and the rest of the tiger heads were well known for the "FFS" cry, as he did what we all know he can do...like clockwork..produce another un____able ____ up from nowhere. ;)
