Usually I'm not a big fan of seeing teams deliberately relegate themselves but with you having only returned for 2 weeks it's a totally different situation.

It's completely up to you because it depends on the kind of challenge you are looking for. You know that you'll initially struggle if you choose Div V whilst Div VI will be a breeze. Whatever you choose you're sole focus will be laying the platform to build a competitive squad.

We're slowly moving through the ranks. Hopefully if you do get relegated and come up the following season you don't end up in V.81. It was certainly a tough initiation to Division V football for us.

Looks like they are giving every player individual birthdays. Could be a step in the right direction in the long term, but wouldn't you be pissed if they put one of your trainees on 100 days or so and he ages within 1-2 weeks of the new season.

The devs ruined the game long ago by thinking that adding countless new division levels and countries and not capping the wage system to realistic levels wouldn't have an adverse effect on the economy and the game as a whole.

Training is now pointless and counter-productive and wages are crippling for most teams from Div III upwards - essentially you get punished for trying to be the best you can be.

A step in the right direction would be to overhaul the wage system by introducing individual player salary caps (for example, regardless of TSI or ongoing training the maximum you'll have to pay an individual player is $300k/week or so) so you don't have to sell players you've trained for years for peanuts.

I agree. It has gone past a joke as players from small countries go for exuberant amounts of money even though their primary skill is inadequate. That has almost become a training method in itself buying bad 17 year olds from small countries training them for a while and making heaps of money. When a country has 5 active users, really why bother!

As for the wages previously in Hattrick masters campaigns teams will bankrupt themselve to win the title.

These issues do effect teams as instead of striving for a teams best expenses arise such as hefty salaries and weak squads trying to get national team players.

haha didn't realize there was a topic about hattrick or else I would of came here ages ago. My team just got demoted to VI after I was promoted to a V league where all the teams averaged at least 160 hatstats (to my teams average of 130).

Glad I'm not in a bot league (all teams are human but they are inactiveish) but I will still promote pretty easily. Anyway if anyone wants to hit me up for a friendly just ask, my team ID is 77220

won 8-1 in the cup. Got a bot in the leagues game this week so ill just play more ressies and play my a team in the cup game and win it if he decideds to play the same team that he played today.

I went with the 5-5-0 and snuck home with a 2-0 win.

I lost one of my trainees to a red card and now have my first and second choice keepers out injured.

The new stamina and player development editorial is a disgrace.

'There are too many talented and expensive players due to everyone training them and that's why prices are so low. We have to look at ways to reduce the amount of these players to make them rarer and thus more valuable - we may even look at introducing ways to remove some players'

I know I tend to bitch and moan about the good old days a fair bit (I joined in January 2002 when the game was actually fun and not terarded as it is now), but the devs have killed them game by adding ridiculous amounts of teams and players in the past 2-3 years and the implementation of the shitty TSI/wage system which rendered the pursuit of a competitive squad via careful training and sales impossible.

It isnt the 'rare' players that are the problem, they're already worthless due to their crippling wages which in fact dissuades people from training them - I recently sold an extra terrestrial winger with secondaries, an Adelaide Town youth product, for a bag of peanuts because his wages would soon be devastating - it is the countless players at all levels, from passable to supernatural, that have flooded the market due to the massive number of managers now playing the game.

These factors have forced prices down, not the people that have bothered to put the time and effort into training real gems.

They say one measure considered is to increase the time required for training level increases. Well joy, instead of hundreds of thousands of outstanding players, we'll have hundreds of thousands of excellent players.

It simply isn't worth my while to train him any higher than this to become one of those 'expensive' or 'rare' players as his wages will become too high, which means his transfer value remains in the toilet as he isn't desirable anyway.

Sorry to bang on about this, but their entire rationale for fixing the chronic deflation of the transfer market is completely f#cked - they wanted to hobble pre-existing teams to ensure new ones can quickly become competitive and that's exactly what they've done.

I've already pulled the $40k/week out of my youth pull system as it's merely burning money. On the rare occasions you do pull a passable or a solid the proceeds don't even cover the money you've already invested in the past month.

I was slightly shocked when my 3 star defender came out as a disastrous in all fields except defending, but wait for it his defending was WRETCHED!! WOOHOO!

Best Ive seen so far is a passable winger with nothing else decent, so it leads to the question:

Should a youth academy player be trained in the academy until he is 18 or even 19??

I wasnt expecting great results from the first weeks youth pulls but passable being the best certainly is unexpected.

dyertribe, you are right about the wages.

Kind of sucks that players have the option of being trained right up to divine yet look at the wages and trhe prices they sell for? PM's, without looking i have easily seen some around 1mil a week in wages and i have also seen most sell for less than 100k. True it's a bargain, but who could really sustain having one of them on your team sucking out 1mil a week in wages?

There-in lies a little problem that you lose 1 game, your crowd figures are shot for your next home game, i've seen a few teams in div II and III and what-not not even surpassing crowd figures of teams in div V on a good run. I'd like to see that area of the game sorted out. Not sure on how to explain it properly, but i'd say people would want to see teams in higher divisions alot more than teams a lot lower down, i don't think it should be too dependant on suporters mood.

The financial side of the game is a mess.

But IMO it comes down to supply far outweighing the demand as far as players on the market goes, which forces prices down, i don't think the changes are going to push prices up any higher than they are now.

Tweaking here and there isn't going to fix it, i think one, maybe 2 areas of the game need overhauling, not just a little patch up job.

Villa express, i think form can be a really good indicator as to what skill level the player is. What form is your 7.5 star striker in? If it is low then the chances are he could be half decent.

I pulled a 4 star wingback in excellent form and he was disastrous defending and wretched winger. I was shocked to say the least, but then came up with idea afterwards that form should be a huge indicator.

I'd probably advise against MOTS'ing so early in seasons, it really kills your team spirit. I've only ever MOTS'd mid-season onwards when i play a game i need to win and know i have a PIC game or 2 afterwards to bring the team spirit back up. Doing it early i nthe season puts you on the back foot for a few weeks and can have negative effects overall on the whole season.

would not normally do it but i will be battling with this bloke for the qualifier position. have a cup match this week & a league match where i have no chance, so the double PIC will get the TS back to where it was.
