Going to finish my 1st season in V 4th. Stopped training defenders as my players all popped to brilliant and started training strikers as my youth pull turned out excellent striker with inadequate passing and playmaking.

Upgraded my stadium to 26,500 costing, have bought new trainees and am going to replace my solid trainer as he is starting to go down in levels.

Great to have this thread back. :thumbsu:

I finished the season in third place which I'm really happy with because V.81 is 3rd toughest V League in Oceania. I've recently hit the 50 star and 200 hatstats mark so I'm starting to make some progress.

It might make me strange but I love training defence. My formation of choice is the 4-5-1 because it allows me to stack the midfield while my 1 striker is a 7 star titanic player with magical set pieces. I'll play either a 5-4-1 or 5-3-2 in my friendly so I'm still training 9 players each week.

After selling a couple more trainees my next moves will be to upgrade my stadium and buy a new goalie and winger.

It's not bad to give up a training slot to maximise your midfield like you are sainter. I train scoring, and whilst i don't give up a training slot to play 3-5-2, i've thought about it, but instead i can play 3-4-3 with 3 IM's, it just means i have to give up 1 wing attack.

i just finished 3rd in my league (VI). i've only been playing for 1 and a half seasons but i feel that next season i will be good enough to get promoted. i just need to get on top of my finances which i am finding is difficult as i want to upgrade my coach and stadium.

finished 3rd in div V bought myself a brilliant scorer and an outstanding defender which will help me next season as thats what i really lack since i train PM.

won 5-3 @ home to finish 2nd in my first div V season, but it was a pretty easy league.

going to get a new coach next season. expensive but will allow me to play PIC when I want to.

Won my qualifier 7-0. (My opponent threw the game) so now i am in div IV.11.

Looks pretty tough, but i should be able to manage top 4 easily if i keep my team spirit in check. :thumbsu:

Red dirt devils (29033)

I've played 5 season, not counting my first when I was chucked into DV 5.

Just finished top but missed out on the qualifier which I'm glad about.

I dont seem to have that good a list as the others in my League but I still won which is confusing.

I've got money in the Bank, a 50,000 seat stadium.

I've trained Pm mainly with a few seasons of defence now I'm training Through Passes for a few weeks then back PM.

I'm not interested in Buying redy made forwards or wingers just yet, I think I'm going to sit tight and save for an expensive coach. But I'm not sure which way to go about it????? help here would be appreciated. Do I buy a player with exp and leadership and wait the 16 weeks? or do I just buy a ready made Coach?

My best trainee is this guy.... Not sure if I should sell him or keep him???

Grant Pinkerton

Stamina: solid Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: outstanding Passing: poor
Winger: weak Defending: poor

On a coach. It would be better to buy a player that has passable exp and solid leadership (you can pick them up on the market for *roughly* 300k. Well i did a few days ago anyway.) It would then cost you 1.5mil to convert him into a coach once he hits solid/solid (and after the 16 weeks). To externally recruit a solid/solid coach, it would cost over 5mil. The choice is yours. :p

Not sure if you know, but leadership on a coach affects your team spirit in a more positive manner than one with poor leadership. One with solid leadership is able to build your team spirit back up a lot quicker than one with poor leadership. (The better your team spirit, the better your midfield ratings essentially.)

Keep your trainee. Train him up to Titanic. Not much money in selling them at that level.

Thanks for the advice.... but I want to get a long term coach and I'm prepared to save and spend the maximum, I have 3.3 million in the bank, and should build on that fairly quickly, so I have been looking at guys around excellant experience and solid Leadership. Like I said I'm prepared to invest heavily in my new coach.

Excellent's aren't worth the money. I'd have to look at the stats, but excellent coachs are only 1 week quicker than solid coaches over say 16-20 weeks. They aren't worth the sort of money to hire one.

Team spirit is an important part of the game. Teams in the higher divisions heavily rely on it to be successful and i'd say they would turn over coaches every 6 or 7 seasons? After about 4 or 5 seasons the leadership starts to drop a level every season or so and their team spirit doesn't replenish as quick. Solid/Solid coach is probably the best coach for the price.

What do you mean by one week quicker??

Depending on the skill level of your coach is the length of time it takes to train players up.

Using your Outstanding pm as an example. Say you have a passable coach, it would take say 8 weeks for him to get to Brilliant. With a solid coach it would take 7 weeks, with an excellent coach, it's about 6.5.

They aren't exact figures (but they are close enough. :D), but you can tell that from the price of how much an excellent coach costs, your player is only getting trained .5 a week quicker. Which IMO doesn't justify the price.

If you decide you want to buy a player to eventually use as a coach, here are some i quickly found on the market.

http://www82.hattrick.org/Common/playerDetails.asp?t2=1&playerID=129363951

They end within a few hours.

It takes roughly 27 points to gain another level in experience. At roughly 1 point per league game and 2 points per cup game. So it takes a little while. But after it, it will cost 1.5m to convert them into a coach. Much cheaper than the 5m to recruit a solid exp/solid leadership one externally.

I paid 320k for my future coach who has passable exp and solid leadership currently. All he has is inad pm and solid passing, but i can play him in defense in the cup and league games to gain exp So they dont have to be a super skilled player. So the max i'd pay could be up to 400k. The market fluctuates too much to get a real accurate price.

I am very fresh to this game.

I have completed steps 1-6 and 8-10 of my coaching license.

I've organized 3 friendly's but it still won't go past step 7.

any help would be welcomed.

according to that, step 7 is organising a friendly. Which is accepting someone's challenge or having someone accepting your challenge. I think you've challenged a team to a friendly, but they have to accept that challenge for step 7 to be complete.

yes. But play him in the league. League games are worth 1 exp point. (need 27 points for him to go to solid exp). Since you are training playmaking(?) play him in defense!

Got out of jail with a 4-3 win. Was up 4-0 when my mythical midfielder went of injured shortly before half time. My opponent even had 60% possession. He scored 3 goals in the 2nd half to make it a nervous finish. Managed to sneak an unlikely win for my first showing in div IV. :thumbsu:

Good stuff.

I started off with a 5-2 win against a pretty good opponent so I'm happy with the start, although the result was somewhat soured by the loss of my keeper to a +6 injury. I was looking to upgrade him anyway and considering he's a 30 year old I don't think I have a choice in the matter anymore.

My league finished as the 3rd strongest V League last season and despite the automatic promotion of our best team we've started off as the 5th strongest league so things are going to be tough. I suppose there isn't much between the top six teams so it's not as if one team will run away with the league like last season.

My other big problem is my wages. They are currently up to $420k and I still need to add another winger along with the keeper.

Good problems to have I suppose and it's going to keep me motivated for another season.
