Funny that you posted this because I think I may have been bitten by a white tailed spider or possibly another sort of spider because right now I have this huge red circle that looks like a burn mark on my arm pit and my whole arm is aching like crazy and is very itchy.

I am actually alittle worried about this.
Go to the hospital emergency section.

I would get it checked out immediately, I knew a girl who got bitten by a spider on her foot, but she didn't know it, she let it go untreated for about 3 weeks, and then her foot was swollen to about 4 times the normal size, she went to the doctor, and he sent her straight to the hospital, she was in hospital for 4 days, having fluid drained from her foot..

So, I'd get it checked out as soon as possible

I had one on my arm too. Looked a bit like a boil and really hurt and itched. Is now just a scar and my doctor said something had probably bitten me and gave me some antibiotics.

A couple of weeks back i got bitten by something at school. I'm still not sure what it was but i had 19 bites all up one arm and 3 on the other.
Also my friends python bit me once, nothing too bad though.

Loyallion...please get it checked out ASAP. My daughter was bitten on the back of her knee by a white tail spider a couple of years ago. After being misdiagnosed by an idiot doctor who told her it was only a ringworm, she became quite ill, so we took her to another doctor who took one look and knew immediately it was a white tailed spider bite. Best to have a doctor look at it now rather than wait and be in excruciating pain in a couple of days as she was.....

Ugly little suckers !!!

Got stung on the ear by a wasp playing football when I was 13, had to come off the ground and get it fixed up - it felt like a vice had clamped down on my ear - Very painful.
Got nipped by a black house spider on my ankle when I was about 20, had enormous amounts of them and white tails around here prior to when we painted the place.
Had swelling and pain on the ankle, skin irritation and felt sick for a few days.

Had a fern tick burrow itself in my ear after a school trip to Hastings Caves in 1984, mum noticed it accidently and took me straight to my grandfather's who dug it out with a heated up flick knife - he was a bushman so he knew plenty about them and how dangerous they could be if left.
That cained when he dug that out

Sounds like it, just from your description of the heated flick knife.

You're lucky to be alive mate.
There's no such thing as a "fern tick".
Digging a tick out with a heated knife aint a really good idea. It would have been a lot less dangerous to just take you to a doctor (or someone wo knew what they were doing), even if it took a day to get there, than to let him dig it out.

You owe your mother and grandfather some pain. Go kick their arses. :)

It was a tick anyway (might've been a scrub tick?), you get them in the ferns down in the SouthWest and far South of Tassie in that dense rainforest area and in around Southport, Lune River, Cockle Creek, Hastings all those sorts of extremely humid and damp places down in the deep South down there.
Apparently they burrow right in after awhile and that's when the problems start, it was just on that gristley part above the earlobe from memory which he dug it out from.
I was like "Aaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhh", he showing no emotion whatsover pipes up with "aiiigh don't be a soft nelly now" :p
It was checked out by the GP the next morning - all clear, no problems.
Just given some sort of medication or something and the area was cleaned up.
LOL Imagine going to the Royal Hobart Hospital with one of those sucker's in your ear for treatment?
The tick could've had a game of cards, three cups of coffee, done a world tour and still had time to burrow it's way in under the skin before I got looked at ;)

If you told them it was on your #1 head you might have gotten priority over other patients!

I was bitten by a white tail spider when I was 9 years old:thumbsd:

I went to bed, somehow it had got into my bed during the daytime. So I was asleep when it stung me. I woke up during the night with a burning sensation, that gradually got worse and worse. It actually bit me twice, once on the lower leg, then once on the palm side of my lower arm. I had squished it as I was tossing and turning.

I was sweating badly and threw-up several times, I was also very dizzy. I had the ring marks, that eventually swelled into large crusty lumps, that came back around the same time every year, this is due to the poison that remains in the body apparently if it is a bad sting. It's pretty much a haze, but I went to the hospital, was in there for about 3 days or so.

It was a bad one:)

Got stung by a bullant as a kid, left a lovely scar. Hurt quite a lot for such a tiny creature.

Other than that, have had plenty of run-ins with snakes (grew up in the country), but as yet no bites. Got caught once when walking, stepped on a hidden snake and looked down to see the damn thing crawling up my leg - f***ing scary moment to say the least - but somehow I avoided the bite.

Swarm of bees landed in my backyard I caught them in a cardboard box went and bought a hive and put them in.
I used to collect there honey and used to get pretty confident never got stung never wore protection.
Until one flew up the legs of my shorts and got caught in my jocks.
A sting on the inner thigh gets you jumping and the feeling of it wriggling around your todger before it stings is worse
