I've asked this constantly but never get a response. Will the supposed cliff we're heading for be the same one Hawforn catapulted itself off to the point where they still haven't won a solitary final since 2015 and still look miles off, or different?

Hawthorn did well in maximising. I think Geelong has under-performed during the period. Should have made 2013 GF.
Fact is that Cats haven't fallen off the cliff during that time, despite it being on the cards for such a long time
In truth, Hawthorn's position is hard to top - although each team has 4 flags post-2000

Way different in fact I would say it could be a 44 year capitulation, I am sure you enjoyed that one.
Biggest difference is the Hawk cliff came after we won Back2Back2Back Premierships where as the Handbagger cliff will be after you have massively underachieved.
You should know how hard it is going Back2Back Premiers, because the Handbaggers have failed at it 4 times.
So just close your eyes for a moment and imagine how good you have to be to go Back2Back then after that imagine how good you have to be to Back2Back2Back Premiers.
Mind Blown and just be grateful you got to witness the magical Hawthorn Greatness.

I'd argue that St Kilda of 2009 and Collingwood in 2011 were two of the toughest GF opponents we've seen, along with your Geelong of 2008
