Competitions Hawks Board Background

Hi fellow Hawks,
It's been mentioned a few times over the past year and I thought it was time to have a look into doing something about it.

For those that access big footy on a computer you may have noticed the beautiful brown and gold border on our board. You may have also noticed some of the nicer looking borders on other teams boards.

Examples of what I'm talking about

So for those of you artistically inclined supporters out there, here is your chance to come up with something better that we could put on the Hawks board as our background.

Now to the rules.

1. The image cannot belong to someone else, if you submit it then it has to be your work
2. The image has to fit the correct dimensions. The board loads in the middle of the page, the content table is 1300 pixels wide, so you have the remainder on either side (plus the flash of the whole image you get when you load or reload the page) to work with. Generally you've got about 150-200 pixels either side for most people on desktops. That 200 pixels either side is where you want your main work to show
   
3. File size needs to be kept small for loading purposes, 200kb is preferred.
4. The background has to be Hawks themed but it doesn't have to be the current team

If we get a few entries we can put a poll up and let the board vote on the design, if we get a lot we will narrow it down to finalists before the vote.

Always found black and white photography with metallic look to be the most effective. But obviously our colours would be missing.
Hodge Rioli and/or Jaeger would suit well.
Maybe someone could be good enough to incorporate B&G colours streaming on the side as well. Also in metallic.

Otherwise, if you could 'accidentally' update the Essendon board with the above, I'd settle for that!

i gave it a shot, i like the design but would love some help or some tips, im working with these 3 atm, not sure which one i should continue to work on if any, give me some suggestions for the boring background also, its hard to get it crisp with the size limit also so keep that in mind

Like the first one. Perhaps make the gold writing bold.

I don't mind a new one but I quite like the brown and gold stripes that we have now, can't go wrong with that look

I have seen a few complaints from other team's supporters elsewhere about our background and I hope that isn't what has prompted us to consider a change because if they don't like our background they know what they can do! To that end I would be in favour of anything that emphasises our many premierships

Dr Sandy Ferguson, Ian Dicker, John Kennedy Snr, Yabby Jeans, Jeff Kennett, Al Clarkson, you can't forget Don Scott one side and on the other celebrate our premiership captains?

Edit: Yes Cyril has some patches missing on him - this is nowhere near a final draft

needs to be wider, that image is 1280 wide, 1300 is the width of the content frame normally which means you sides would not be shown

go for 1600-1920 wide
